I actually read Bottom Line Yearbook 2017. I like the Bottom Line books, which are very informational. This book did not disappoint. It took the latest in nutrition, finances, saving money, etc... It makes a great gift or to keep as a reference.

This was a great spooky tale!

Nothing is as what it seems in this book as you have a woman that survives a horrific car accident and she has no memory of the accident or the weeks before the accident. With the help of a detective that tries to help her unravel the mystery of the car crash, they come to a conclusion that someone wanted her dead. Who it is was and what exactly happened leading up to the crash is truly nail biting suspense.

A major page turner - kept me on the edge of my seat!

The author, J.M. Barlog pulls you into this story and weaves this mystery/horror novel to a point that will leave you breathless with anticipation of what is going to happen next! Giving it 4.5 stars and rounding up to 5 stars for mysterious suspense!

This book provides a basic instructional text for operating any business. The Contents are alphabetical topics from "Advertising" to "Unions". Each subject is crafted from a CEO point of view--what is best for the owner of a business. In other words, few concessions are made to stockholders, employees, managers, or consumers. It basically provides a map for using a "company" entity to carve out benefits for the operator by evading taxes, shirking responsibility for consequences, and controlling everyone else.

This pocket-size book is categorized into various "Secrets," i.e. money, tax, insurance, eating and dieting, health, human sexuality, car, and more. Since it was published in the mid-1990s, many of the financial "secrets" are dated because tax laws have changed. However, there are many common sense tips about healthcare, prescription drugs, and questions you should ask your doctor. I really liked the tip on "headache relief without drugs"--it worked! Overall, worth the read, if not for a glimpse into how things used to be nearly 20 years ago.

I've been through this information and tried a lot of it, and this is good basic treatment. Eat well and exercise - but this gives you details. My incidental take-away is that many of the Big Pharma companies are caught up in a competition toward the bottom, which is so easy with billion-dollar marketing frauds. This conclusion is "incidental" since it is not the intention of the authors, but is a conclusion from the documentation provided. The authors summarize and reference the studies and science. Industrial medicine is now the problem, not the solution.

ASPIRIN. Taking daily "aspirin therapy" to prevent heart attack increases likelihood of stomach bleeding by 3x, whether or not the aspirin is enteric-coated or buffered or what brand. Take 1/4 or a baby aspirin [120], and prescription-strength Pepcid to reduce risk of ulcers [121].

GERD. After lifestyle modification, the first line of drug therapy is antacids. Next option is OTC acid blockers like Zantac or Pepcid AC. Tagamet is by prescription and interacts with other drugs. Last resort is surgery, even a laparoscopic fundoplication, wrapping the upper portion of the stomach around the lower end of the esophagus.[149]

NUTS in order of increasing fat content: chestnuts, cashews, peanuts, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, macadamias.

TUMOR-FIGHTING. Reduce fat to 15% caloric intake. Average is 40% in form of fat. Risk of cancer climbs 4x-8x for each 10%. Fats should be mono- or poly-unsaturated, such as from salmon, canola, olive or flaxseed oil. Avoid saturated fats from meat, milk, palm kernel. Increase fiber--both soluble (oat bran) and insoluble (wheat bran)[235]. In Sweden, cancer rates are low despite a high saturated fat diet, because high consumption of rye bread. All produce, but especially cruciforms. Turmeric.

Not a bad little book on tips and strategies for a better financial life. Most of the tips just scratch the surface but still the book gives you a few good ideas that you should look into. A better book is “Save Your Retirement” co-written by Paul B. Brown.

A compilation of the most up to date health care research modalities, available...some are not available and still in the experimental stages at the university medical centers. Listed are new way to beat diabetes, treat asthma, loose weight, find out if your vitamins purchased are poisoned or at the measured levels that they are supposed to be. Get some cheap viagra, look at new ways to treat fibroid tumors, old ways of using aromatherapy for headaches, and treat ulcers with vitamin c. Also one should be careful when receiving transplanted organs, studies have shown that if an organ is diseased chances are you will also get the transferred disease, and your deoderant containing paraffins could be the cause of breast cancer in many, but not to worry, there are now vaccines for certain cancers that have been shown to be moderately affective and a new cancer cure that is extremely effective....there's a lot of information in this pamphlet.

There is a TON, (yes, really! 2,000 pounds!), of cool information in this book, there's so much of it, you'll wonder if you could actually read the entire thing! Everything from how to put a little fun into your marriage to how to cap the chimney flue. Maybe you'd like to know how to get the best foreign exchange rates, or how to choose a canoe, learn the best strategy for winning the State lottery, or even how you can give money to a charity and keep earning interest on it. This book will tell you how to do it and much, much more. Quite a cool book!
