Lee sings standards with a small jazz combo.

4/4 (Great).

I knew from a Best Of album that I liked Peggy Lee, but compared to her hits, this album is on another level. It's always a nice surprise to hear recordings of standards that somehow manage not to be redundant.½

Peggy Lee, in this autumnal effort, sings jazz standards very pleasantly. She was of course better than “pleasant” in her prime and the songs of course have been covered better by others, maybe covered better by her in her younger years. Still, I am grateful for this.½
