Very short. Not bad but pales in comparison to the archangel series

Three connected stories about the current generation of von Tassel sisters, their ghostly aunts, and the curses that are keeping them all tied to Sleepy Hollow. The romances are a bit predictable but they're funny, and each manages to deviate enough from the formula to hold my interest.

Keegan and his three half-brothers are half-demon and half something else. All work for an inter-dimensional council as bounty hunters. They are tasked with killing a woman who could bring about the end of the world for not just Earth but for other dimensions as well. The problem is that when Keegan meets her, he just sees an innocent.

Brynn has a couple of abilities she’s needed to keep quiet about all her life. She can protect herself by draining another’s energy just by touching them. And if she concentrates on something she touches, she can see images from the item’s history. She’s not aware of her ancestry and that a long-dead ancestor was a high priest and before his death hid a spell in a book that only an heir can activate—to raise an army of undead—and the brother’s demon father wants to get a hold of both and rule the world.

The premise and threat are good, as are the action and sexual tension. But the best part of the book doesn’t start until near the end when we physically meet the brother’s father and everything that takes place once the first confrontation begins.

The romance left me a little flat; I never felt anything but their desperation to save the other.

Overall a decent story with sexy guys who will each have their own issues, apparently with a continuing back-story; at least into the second book.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

Hotter than Wild Girls Rule (book #1 of the Everly Brothers series), Rosalie Lario pens another fun and sexy billionaire romance and proves that being naughty is sometimes exactly what a good girl needs.

Good Girls Don't was a super steamy erotic contemporary full of 'lose yourself to the passion' sexy moments, liquifying dirty-talk, and emotion. I will admit that I'm not usually one for the dirty talk or the rough stuff, but this book made me rethink that a bit. There's just something uber sexy about losing yourself like that and allowing that part of yourself you didn't even think you had inside of you to emerge. The best part, was that Rosalie wrote the book in such a way that you got to experience the passion and surprise right alongside the characters. Plenty of 'wow, where did that come from' moments, followed by, 'holy hell that was hot'. :)

The conflict of the tale was stellar, as well. What would YOU do if you gave in to desire and had a one-night stand with a sexy someone, only to find out that they were your biggest competition for the business deal that would completely change your life?

Rosalie Lario proves once again that she is becoming in a league of her own when it comes to sexy brothers and their significant others. I can't wait for Sam's book and I highly recommend this series! The installments read just fine as stand-alones, but I definitely recommend Wild Girls Rule, it was incredible too.

This was the change of pace I needed. A light hearted romance with sass in triplicate.

Spellbound in Sleepy Hollow is an anthology that works together to create one masterfully written story. Each story is told by a different author, and the amazing thing is their styles of writing work seamlessly together.

I loved the Von Tassel Sisters, the old ghosts as well as the living Von Tassel sisters. Each author explored the auntie and sister that were similar in nature. Each set had their own issues with their love lives and the resolution of those problems were given a time limit by the one thing we know lurks around in Sleepy Hollow- The Headless Horseman.

What an enjoyable light read!

Our Review by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

What a fun and clever collection! Three intertwining, yet unique tales, using the basis of the original story of Sleepy Holly and the headless horseman and turning it into a thrilling, romantic comedy of sorts.

In the 'original' Sleepy Hollow we all get to meet Katrina von Tassel, but in Spellbound in Sleepy Hollow we get her AND her sisters, Elizabeth and Cassandra, ghosts bound to the Inn of the Headless Horseman that their nieces, Stephanie, Bri, and Lexi, run.

Bound via a middleman to the Dark Prince, the sextet is tasked with finding and pledging their love to their destined soul mates or be denied entry to Summerland forever. The problem... each and every one of them has a convoluted history with those that they covet and love - heartbreak, lies, subterfuge, & more! - and there is many a hurdle to overcome.

The book was chock full of wit, romance, comedic action and surprise, and was entertaining from cover to cover.

I would highly recommend this book to just about anyone. If you like the legend of Sleepy Hollow you will find this fun and refreshing. If you just want a light-hearted read to put you in a good mood, this is a good one to try.

Kudos to the authors for spinning a fresh, interesting and unique new light paranormal romance. I love each of these authors' independent works, getting them together for a project like this was brilliant! :)

This is the 4th and final installment of the 'Demons of Infernum' series and it was fantastic! Now, you don't have to read the first three books in this series for this one to make sense however, I would defintely recommend reading them in order, if you can - it's just more fun! This time around, the story centered around the youngest sibling Dagan and his love interest turned out to be his brother Ronin's adopted angel sister Lina. You might think that this is an 'opposites attract' trope with a hunky demon (well, half-demon, half-siren)getting together with a gorgeous angel but, it played out very differently. They seemed like two peas in a pod to me. They both had horrific experiences in their past that left them feeling broken and unworthy of love. Both seeming to go through life on auto-pilot, not really living. It was amazing to watch them transform and grow, healing each other without even knowing it. Ms. Lario has written another incredible tale filed with fast-paced, heart-pounding action peppered with some hot, steamy goodness and has then balanced all of that with warmth, tenderness, and a dash of forgiveness. There were some poignant moments that will touch your heart and other scenes that will have you fanning yourself and wishing for more! I'm sad to see the end of the road for the brothers but, I feel like I'll be seeing them again...there seems to be a new member of their hybrid-brother party that is jumping up & down, screaming for some attention, just looking at his author for a story of his own. (Yes Rage, I'm lookin' at you!)

FTC advisory: I received a copy of this book from the author. No compensation was given for my review.

This novella in the Demons of Infernum series is an intriguing paranormal romance that keeps the reader guessing.

Incubus and biochemist Cresso Taylor lives the lifestyle that most men would envy – wealth, charm and more women than he can handle but after meeting sexy scientist Genevieve Russell, it’s not enough anymore. Broken-hearted, Genevieve is determined to stay clear of the sexy as sin Dr Taylor. But when she starts receiving threatening notes and grisly gifts, Cresso becomes her protector and as they hunt her stalker she learns there is more to the sensual incubus than she ever imagined.

This fast paced and intriguing plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of sexual tension and suspense. The author has the reader feeling like they are part of the story with vivid images and lots of details that make it a believable and entertaining story. The strong compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention and doesn’t let go.
The attraction between Cresso and Genevieve radiates heat from every page and leave the reader smoldering with passion. The author clearly conveys the emotional turmoil of each of the characters as they try to handle their relationship and the stalker.

The suspense builds as the couple try to find out who is after Genevieve and keeps the reader guessing as they follow the clues. The author has created an fantastic paranormal demon world that captures the imagination and keeps the reader turning the pages until the very end.
I haven’t read the previous books in this series, in fact, it is my first book by this author but I will be remedying that and looking for more books in this series.

First Thought When Finished: These Demons of Infernum have a kidnapping fetish but it always turns their worlds upside down. As it should!

Story Thoughts: This is the 2nd book in the Demons of Infernum series and each story draws us further into the world. I really enjoy the series overall. I look forward to seeing how each of these brothers contribute to saving our world. The story is solid, the mythology well laid out, and the action is pretty fast! I think the pacing was a little off in the middle but otherwise very entertaining!

Character Thoughts: Rosalie Lario writes good characters. I really liked Maya! She was strong, mouthy, and smart. She had a lot thrown at her in a short amount of time. She had to change her world view on demons and I think she did it with just the right amount of trepidation! Taeg, you wanted to trust him and then you wanted to kick him. He annoyed me and then I wanted to root for him. I think he was a great Alpha male that got blindsided by a spitfire. Served him right. We got to see the other brothers and I am really looking forward to their stories in the future!

Final Thought: I will be counting down to the next brother's book because so far these have been fun afternoon reads that end up making me smile!½

Wow! Okay, if you have something that needs to be done, don’t pick up this book. If you don’t have a sense of humor, and you don’t get subtle jibes, don’t pick up this book. If you’re not interested in action packed adventure, demons and humans falling in love, well you know. This might not be the book for you.
However, if you like action the kind that keeps you turning the page because you have to find out what is going to happen next. If you love seeing a woman that is strong, determined and downright spunky, you really need to pick up this book. If you love seeing a man, alright demon, trying to explain to a demon slayer why she really should not take him out, this is the book for you.
Demons come in all sizes and shapes, and there are so many shades of gray. Maya learns through her journey with Taeg that her notions of demons aren’t as cut and dry as her upbringing taught her. She’s got the skills and she’s a demon slaying ball of fire. I loved watching her grow and fall in love with Taeg.
This is a wonderful spellbinding treat! I literally hated putting the book down to cook dinner, fold laundry. All of that mundane stuff could wait! This was a story I wanted to get lost in, and it took me for a wonderful adventure.

First Thought When Finished: The end rocked! I need more of these particular siblings!

First Date (first 1/3): Hot Half Demons with power! I feel hooked just from the synopsis and the opening chapters pretty much sealed it for me. I need to know these Half Demons!

Second Date (middle 1/3): Keegan and Brynn--I am not sure how I feel about them. Sometimes I really want them to get it together and other times I want her to run far away. He has a few personality quirks that tend to nettle at me.

Third Date(last 1/3): Keegan you finally grew on me. I mean I am super in love with your brothers but you finally got to me. I am really excited now to continue y'alls story and fight. I think being the first brother up was probably tough but you were awesome in the end.

Dating Status: Oh I will be reading on about these brothers! I really fell in love with the rest of them even if it took me a bit with Keegan!

This was a very strong start to a series, I thoroughly enjoyed the book from the first page to the last it kept me turning the pages to see what happened next. The build up of the characters were nice and tied all in together that kept one wondering what would happen next. You could not help but fall in love with the brothers as they struggled to keep Brynn alive and their bonds close.

The story is of Keegan sent to find out if Brynn is the key to the apocalypse. If so he is to keep her and in the event that they have no way to avoid it he’s to kill her. Keeping her is one thing , Killing her is another as Keegan finds himself torn between falling in love with the very woman that could end Earth and all that she is or protecting his brothers, Killing their father and saving the world. Is one life really worth millions? A decision that Keegan finds himself in the middle of having to make and falling desperately in love. Shouldn’t a Demon have a little love too even if most think that they are damned and evil to the world?

I suggest that if you want a good flow of writing something in way of Sherrilyn Kenyon or some of the other really well series books out there pick this up and check it out today I know I can’t wait till the next installment.

Cresso did the unthinkable, he fell in love – him, an incubus – with his co-worker the only woman who visibly and verbally cannot stand him. Unrequited love, not so grand. So, he puts up the appearance of nonchalance just so that she can’t attack him and his weakness for her.

Genevieve has been badly burned by her playboy ex-fiancée, after he cheated on her with two nurses she’s done with men, especially the type Cresso present, the incubus who enjoys sex for food usually multiple women at the time. She can’t give an inch to him, she won’t ever be so gullible again.

But Cresso finds out about the threatening letters and the macabre gift she just received, he goes to full protect mode and she doesn’t have much say in that, it doesn’t take long for the two of them to butt heads and try to stifle the attraction, what will it take to forget the past and look into the future, especially has you have an deranged stalker at your heels.

Absolutely loved this book! Exciting new novella with a hot Incubus, Demons, Shifters, Heroes, Heroines and one malicious stalker - could there be a better premises! It hooked me from the very beginning. I hadn’t read the earlier books in Rosalie Lario's Demons of Infernum series but it didn’t matter this one was perfect mix of lust, love, danger and action! Her world was easily believable and I didn’t need more elaboration it was a great balance, the laboratory where Cresso and Genevieve worked fit perfectly in the human world and the paranormal and the romance mixed very well. The plot was great, I love a good stalker story it just makes the tension between the main couple more electric, more demanding and makes the connection deeper and quicker.
I liked how the story clicked on the issue of not judging a a book by it's cover, Gen had been through infedility and put that face on all the men she met especially Cresso who just happened to love her. She could have easily missed the greatest thing, if she hadn't taken a look at her own role in her play, wither she wanted to be alone or give a chance to love again, to burn or to blossom.
I'd like to think if I'd been in her shoes that I would have given Cresso a chance, even after being once burned, would you?

To the characters! Cresso was addictive, he was deeply in love with Genevieve sure that she hated him, he was starving himself because all he wanted was her, and when he found out she might feel something for him after all it was exciting to see him begin to give a little at a time to seducing Genevieve. Cresso was the perfect hero strong, powerful, little broken and broken hearted wanting Gen above everything else.
Genevieve was a great heroine, she’s bit too harsh and can be hurtfull while she tries to protect herself from heartbreak, her anger subsides and she becomes more caring towards Cresso as the story grows and you being to really root for them to get together. Great couple chemistry, and yeah, hot as hell!

The cover I loved, I have bit of a thing for London! The covers for the series all follow the same theme and are all intriguing and gorgeous, a joy to look at, yes I'm bit of a cover whore, so sue me! ;D

You’ll love this if… you like your heroes tormented by love, your heroines strong and aggressive and if you like the tension caused by an obsessive stalker!

(4.5 Stars!)
If you read my review on the 4th book earlier you know I gushed about these covers, love them! They set the mood for the book perfectly, it's bit dark and has the romance without the buff guy shot ( not that I don't love those as well! ;D ). I really do enjoy Lario's writing, its right up there with the best of them. It's fun, witty, hot and had the right amount of darkness, sadness and tension. And I love a book with tension to keep the chemistry just right! Mark Of The Sylph was great tale of romance, demons, tension and inevitable danger to bring the couple together and sealing the deal.

Maya and Taeg made the best couple, with the fighting and the banter and the scorching hot sex! I loved their chemistry ( and the kidnapping and the tied to the bed bit! ;) ), Taeg felt instant attraction, Maya felt instant hate, and watching much strong Taeg toy with Maya who could hold her own was the best form of couple foreplay! Also this is the first I got to know of the half-demon brothers and boy do they have things going for them, I love guys who act arrogant and snarky and yet completely fall for the girl and give her the whole world and the soft heart they had secretly nurtured the whole time just for her. Can't wait to read more of these books!

The only reason why I didn't give this book the full five stars was because while it was amazing it was slightly slow at parts that made me want to skip a little to get to where Maya and Taeg were the main focus, I could have lived without the enemy's chapters.

You'll love this if... you like your heroines strong in give a run for your money kind of way, and your heroes tough, strong in the will kick your ass six ways till Sunday kind of way - and love seeing them battle out while falling in love, when that's the last thing they should be doing

You may think you know about angels, but you have no idea. Ms. Rosalie has created a world of angels unlike any I’ve ever read, and I loved every second of it! The winged ones are anything but friendly when the veil between there world and ours breaks. They take over the earth, and life as we knew it ceased to exist. They build their high towers, and use their security team to enforce their rules. Human is life is left up to chance with a lottery dictating your career path, and your home. The tension in the air is tangible, and the atmosphere has like a powder keg waiting to explode, and our heroine Eva is stuck smack dab in the middle. Eva has her own doubts about the way things are run, but with no family and no options there’s nothing she can do.

When our hero Michael shows up in her apartment one stormy night her life is turned completely upside down. He’s nothing like she thought they would be. Angels aren’t supposed to be humorous, kind or attracted to humans. She’s terrified of the angel at first. Michael is what her Mother would call,’ Sex on a stick’, and the attraction between them is too easy to lose herself in. When someone see’s the fallen angel at her house she’s thrust headlong into a war she had never knew existed.

Rosalie has a talent for sculpting, shaping and molding her environment. Her take was fresh , and I loved the mix of intrigue, and passion. Her skill for details and witty dialogue delivered a sense of realism that solidifies the myth and mayhem that surrounds the romance. She took her time building up the relationship, exposing their flows and making us fall in love with Eva and Michael. Once I started this book I was unable to put it down, and I recommend it to anyone whose looking for a romance with real substance. I’ve got my eyes open for the next in this series, Ms. Rosalie, keep up the excellent work.

This is a novella set in the world of the Demons of the Infernum series, but instead of focusing on the brothers, it focuses on their friend Cresso. I have personally been in love with this incubus since we met him in one of the earlier books so I was crazy excited to get my hands on this novella!

Cresso has stood out for me for quite a while; he is kind, funny as hell and helps out anyone who needs it. He has a big heart and his skills came in handy during the last book, Touch of the Angel when Ronin and Amara were in search of a way to be together without her killing him. If you have not read Touch of the Angel (which really you should because it is awesome) Amara is a succubus and if she sleeps with anyone besides an incubus she will kill him, which became a major problem in Ronin and Amara’s case. Cresso has been working on a cure for this problem ever since we are first introduced to him, but his motivations as to why are never really divulged until Heart of the Incubus. When his past is revealed it just made me love him even more.

As for Genevieve, I had to give her some time to grow on me. She had been burned pretty badly in the past, so I can understand some of her negative attitude towards Cresso. To an outsider he looks like a playboy, especially since he needs sex to survive, but really he longs for something more than just a one night stand. There came a point where she was just being downright mean to him after all the time he spent helping her I just wanted her to cut the poor guy a little slack. She did finally win me over and I was cheering for her from that point on.

The overall romance in this novella was really sweet. They both had issues to overcome, Genevieve more so, but it was intriguing to watch it all unfold in front of us. Although this is a novella we still get some steamy scenes between these two and they are well worth the buildup leading to them. Rosalie always does a fantastic job of building up the sexual tension, so when the couples finally get together it is explosive. Heart of the Incubus is no exception to this, plus it is Cresso, would you expect any less?

As for the plot, Genevieve has a sick psycho stalking her. Whoever they are, they are sending her sick presents and inappropriate love letters. She turns to Cresso for help and the suspects keep piling up. Rosalie did a great job of keeping me guessing as to how the stalker really was and when I finally pieced it together it all made sense. There are clues left for you all throughout and once the identity is revealed it is easy to look back and find them. And again, even though this is a novella, I still think the overall story arc was developed well and kept me intrigued.

Overall, I am still in love with this series! Rosalie’s boys are not to be missed. We even get to get a quick recap of how all of them are doing in this book and I appreciated that. This series is a fantastic edition to the paranormal world and this novella is a must read. I highly suggest reading all of them and reading them in order. This one should be read after the first three since it will have spoilers if you have not read them yet, but you cannot leave this one out. Even though it is short, it is still jammed packed with a hot romance and an enticing mystery that will keep you flipping the pages until you have read the last word. I cannot wait for the next book, Heart of the Siren!

Since I read both of these back to back, I had the previous novella’s plot fresh in my mind. However, if you are reading these out of order or it has been a while since you read the first one you don’t need to worry. Rosalie does an excellent job of filling the reader in on what has already transpired and how they mythology in this world works, so you need not worry.

So in this novella, the main couple already know each other. Actually, Tayla has known and had a crush on Ethan since she was six. She told him as much once, when she was sixteen, but she was harshly refused by Ethan and has been devastated by the rejection ever since. Her father was also killed in the same fire that almost claimed Ethan’s life and Tayla blames Ethan for his death. Ethan on the other hand, has always known Tayla was meant for him, but she was so young when she first revealed her feelings to him and he felt wrong about acting on those feelings. There is another reason that you are going to have to read more to learn about that kept him from being with her which shocked myself and Tayla. Ethan has lived with the guilt of not being able to save her father and his feelings for her that he thought were inappropriate for a long time. But now, he is done denying how he feels and is ready to convince Tayla that they belong together. Theirs is not going to be an easy courtship, but that only made the story that much more interesting.

One of the elements I have really enjoyed about these stories is that I always want more. You can tell that Rosalie could easily take the material she gives the reader and turn it into a full length novel. There are so many side plots and conflicts that could take more time, but we only get to break the surface of them because of the length of the book. I guess this is an up and a down because I want to learn more, but sometimes it is nice just to get the backbone of the story and not worry with all the distracting details. We get to focus on Tayla and Ethan as they learn that they have always needed each other and watching them grow to love one other was very sweet.

There was a little more action in this one than in the previous novella, but it is clear that Rosalie is still building up to the big showdown. I am sure we are going to see a couple more angels mated before that happens. Actually, one was hinted at already and I am hoping that will be the next novella because it sounds very interesting.

Overall, I am still enjoying this series and look forward to the next one. They are fun, fast, hot reads that I am sure any lover of paranormal romance would enjoy.

I am used to reading about Rosalie’s demon half-brothers, so when I downloaded this book I knew I was going to have to shift gears a little bit. The paranormal creatures would be different, but this is also a novella and not a full length novel so I needed to adjust there as well. I am always hesitant about novellas, since they are so much shorter, but I have come to love Rosalie’s work, so I kept an open mind going into this book.

I am really glad I did give this series a shot now, because I loved this story! There is a threat looming in the distance in this world, but there is not really a major battle or anything like that through the course of the plot. I did not miss that aspect of the book at all though. Rosalie really took the time to let Michael and Eva’s bond grow and I appreciated that. Sometimes with novellas, the characters just rush into the romance without taking time to breathe and that often bothers me. Not in this story, they do have an instant connection, but time is taken to explore their bond and this helped me connect with each of them.

I also like the idea of the Fallen helping humans fight against the other angels. In this world, the angels control life on earth and we are basically their slaves. The worst part is, most humans don’t even seem to care or notice that they are prisoners in their own world. Angels feel that they are superior to humans and because of this we should fall at their feet and do their bidding. Luckily, the Fallen do not feel this way and this is why the other angels have cast them out. A war is looming and battles have already been fought, but the human race is just starting to catch on and will hopefully triumph.

We do get to see some of the other Fallen, but because this is a novella we do not get to know them very well. I know there are more books to come in this series and I am really excited to explore them. Rosalie manages to pack a lot into such a short story and I loved every second of it. I am looking forward to learning more about these angels in the future.

We rejoin our half-demon brother quartet a couple of months after Taeg’s novel with the boys growing restless. They have not had a job in months and are starting to get antsy. They are also worried that the lack of bad guys running around will jeopardize their jobs and they will be sent back to Infernum. Ronin might be the most agitated of the bunch. He, just like all his brothers, has had a tortured past and because of all his hardships, he rarely lets anyone get close to him. He doesn’t plan on letting Amara in at all, but she completely captivates him and he cannot seem to forget about her no matter how hard he tries.

Poor Amara has gotten the short end of the stick in life. She is forced to use her succubi abilities to harm people and has almost nothing to call her own. She is basically a slave and has been abused repeatedly both emotionally and physically. She is a broken woman, who is always hoping salvation is just around the corner. When she meets Ronin, she wants him more than she has wanted anything else, but she does not dare hope for anything that wonderful to become a part of her world. My heart broke for Amara and the impossible situations she found herself in. She was definitely not a fighter like Maya from the last book, but she had a huge heart and she uses it to care for others in any way she can.

As for the romance, these books have always been steamy, but Touch of the Angel was white hot! I think Amara being a succubus might have had a little to do with it, haha. But Ronin was not exactly and angel (no pun intended) when it came to keeping his hands to himself. The two of them have an explosive connection right at the beginning of the book and the tension just heats up as the story goes along. I loved every second of watching their bond grow and wanted to shout at Ronin’s brothers to go away so they could have some alone time together.

In past books, the brothers’ father has been the root of the evil chasing after them, but they have a whole new sinister force to reckon with now. The brothers are aware that something is out there, but they have no idea who and an unknown force can sometimes cause more damage than one you are aware of. I don’t think he is going to be easy to take down and he also has many minions out there to do his dirty work for him. It will be interesting to see how this guy plays into the overall plot of the story and what damage he will do on the brothers’ lives.

Speaking of the boys, I love how Rosalie keeps all of them right at the forefront of the story, not just the brother being featured. The family bond is so strong between these brothers and that relationship is at the core of these books. It is one of the reasons I love reading them, because I know that along with great action and an intense romance, I am also going have a real connection with these men and the women in their lives. Rosalie has written fantastic characters that are easy to love and impossible to walk away from without knowing how their lives will turn out.

I was also excited to get a sneak peek at Cresso and what was going on in his world! That guy has been stuck in my head since we first meet him and I hoped that Rosalie would give him his own story. To my great pleasure he will be getting one (squee), and seeing where his life has taken him since we saw him last was very exciting.

There are quite a few twists thrown into this story at the end. There is no way I could have seen them coming and that just made them even better. The biggest surprise was the girl I am hoping will end up with Ronin’s brother, Dagan. It came out of left field and I have fingers crossed that Rosalie will let this relationship coming to fruition. I am also dying to see how all the brothers will react to this one relationship. I am thinking Dagan is in some trouble already, haha. You are going to have to read to figure out what I am talking about, but I promise you it is worth it.

Overall, Rosalie just keeps getting better with each book. Touch of the Angel was a hot, exciting, addictive read that I finished in one sitting. I am dying for the next book and cannot wait to see what is in store for both Cresso and Dagan. If you are a paranormal romance lover than these are books you cannot miss!

I fell in love with this world when I read the first book in the series, Blood of the Demon and was excited to dive back in. Since this is the second book in the series, I would recommend reading the first one, but it is not necessary. Rosalie gives you enough back story on the characters and events from the previous book that you will not be confused. If you read the first one however, it will just make the experience of reading Mark of the Sylph more enjoyable.

We rejoin the brothers in Mark of the Sylph pretty much right where we left them before. Taeg is guilt stricken since he feels like he has let Keegan down one too many times. To try and redeem himself, he is searching for a way to break Brynn from the curse that binds her to the book capable of raising an army of the dead. Taeg is the brother that I gravitated toward in the last book, Blood of the Demon, so I was really excited to read a book devoted to just him. He has an extremely sarcastic attitude and a hilarious collection of t-shirts. If I didn’t know better I would think he could just conjure up the perfect shirt for the every occasion, but he does not have that ability. So, his t-shirt choices are just well planned out comic relief for the reader. While hilarious, Taeg does have a serious side and it is seen in the book through his sense of duty. He struggles with loyalty and who he owes allegiance to more, his heart or his family. From the moment he meets Maya, he is intrigued by her and her ability to surprise him constantly. Taeg has always been very confident and a bit of a player, so watching Maya take his ego down a few notches was delightful.

Speaking of Maya, she is a heroine that I warmed up to very quickly. For one she works at a library, gotta love a bookworm, and two, she can totally kick butt when needed. She has grown up with a deep rooted hatred of demons, and rightly so since they are responsible for the death of her family. Therefore, her initial interactions with Taeg are not happy ones. She is not impressed with his unwelcome flirtation and given the chance she would take him out. While Taeg struggles with loyalty, Maya’s inner battle is with breaking preconceived notions of a person, or in this case demon. She believes all demons are evil, period, no exceptions. And Taeg challenges that idea at every turn. This is a theme we see so often in real life, maybe not with demons, but with people in general. Many are far too judgmental of others and Mark of the Sylph addresses that issue with Maya. That expression “Don’t judge a book by its cover” comes to mind. Maybe that should be another t-shirt that Taeg wears, “Don’t judge a demon by its horns!” Haha, sorry could not resist that one.

Okay, back to the book. Mark of the Sylph did have action that kept the characters busy, but there were no curve balls thrown into the plot. I usually expect to have at least one surprise in there just to keep myself and the characters on our toes, but I did have pretty much everything figured out about two thirds of the way through. I really enjoyed the characters though, and their sarcasm and steamy relationship did counteract some of the predictability. I would definitely not let this keep you from reading the book. It is still a great book; it is just focuses more on the relationship between the two main characters, instead of twists and turns in the storyline.

Overall, I really enjoyed the second addition to the Demons of the Infernum series. Taeg was a great alpha male and Maya was a kick butt and take names kind of heroine. The other brothers, as always, had fun banter sessions and kept you falling in love with them. I am looking forward to the next book and discovering which brother Rosalie will let us get to know next.

The beginning of BLOOD OF THE DEMON reminded me a lot of the first book in the Doomsday Brethren series TEMPT ME WITH DARKNESS and I really enjoyed that book so I didn't have any issues getting into this one. Brynn always knew she was different so when she was kidnapped by Keegan and his brothers it didn't take her long to believe what they said about her and who she was. The relationship between Keegan and Brynn grows pretty quickly. They feel drawn to each other and possessive of each other instantly. Brynn has her reservations at first of course as she was pretty much kidnapped but Keegan definitely holds out longer and tries hard to push Brynn away while pulling her close. I enjoyed all of Keegan's brothers. It will be fun seeing there stories in books to come. The world that the series is set in is pretty easy to follow and understand. Rosalie does a good job setting it up and explaining it when it needs to be explained. There were a few parts in the book that seemed a little to easy. Whether it was a situation being solved to quickly or maybe a little to unbelievable but the story all together was neat and enjoyable. I think any fans of the multiple character and POV stories will enjoy the first book int he Demons of Infernum series.

I gave it 4/5 stars

This is the first book I have read from Entangled Publishing and if all of them are this good I know this is not going to be a publisher I forget! It is also the first book I have read by Rosalie Lario and I already want to get my hands on the next book in the series. Okay, I am jumping ahead of myself, let me back up and tell you about this book before I talk about the next one.

Blood of the Demon is the first book in Rosalie’s Demons of the Infernum series. The series focuses on the lives of four half-demon brothers who live in New York and are fighting to rid the world of evil. They serve a council from their world that sends them on missions to protect various planets and its inhabitants. For the purposes of Blood of the Demon, the brothers are protecting Earth from a sadistic demon who also happens to be their father, Mammon.

The brother we get the pleasure of getting to know in this book is Keegan. He is the oldest of the four and the one who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is extremely protective of his three brothers and often feels like he let them down by not getting them all away from their monstrous father fast enough. Keegan is very hard on himself and does not give into his own needs, ever. Until Brynn. She is the owner of an art gallery and has a couple talents of her own. She can drain human energy and she has the ability to get the history of an inanimate object just by touching it. She is thrown into Keegan’s world when he kidnaps her, but tells her he is doing it to protect her. Brynn wants to believe him when he tells her it is for her benefit, but she still has a nagging feeling she is not getting the whole story out of him or his brothers.

In true paranormal romance fashion we get the viewpoints of our main characters Brynn and Keegan, but there are a couple of other characters who we get to peek inside briefly. The brothers take over a couple of times and even the villain, Mammon, gets to tell his side of the story. The multiple viewpoints are always something I love about this genre and this book was no exception. With the various perspectives we get many facets of the story and it only entices you to read further. It also helps the reader to form an attachment to all four brothers, not just Keegan, which I am sure will be beneficial in future books. The brothers share witty banter that had me laughing out loud. Their relationship served as the comic relief on multiple occasions. It is also clear that they are a very tight knit group and would do anything for each other. I quickly grew attached to the foursome and at the climax of the story I found myself getting choked up because of their close bond and the way they were reacting to the situation they found themselves in. It was easy to see how much they meant to each other and get caught up in the emotional roller coaster with them.

Since Blood of the Demon is the first in series, Rosalie does take time to explain the world, but the explanations do not bog down the story or slow the plot. Sometimes first books in series can take too much time to explain the world so, the story building and character connection is lost. This is not case for this book. I was fully engrossed in the mythology and soaking up every detail that Rosalie gave to us.

Keegan and Brynn are faced with threats at every turn. They barely have time to catch their breath while they are fighting for their lives, and each other. The action and the romance in this novel are balanced perfectly. Rosalie gives you just enough of each to keep you satisfied, but always wanting just a little bit more. It all leads up to a heart pounding climax that literally had me on the edge of my seat as it unfolded. I started and finished this book in the same day because there was no way I was going to put it down without knowing how it all came to a close.

Overall, Blood of the Demon is a fantastic new paranormal romance series that I am dying to get more of. Rosalie left us with resolution for now, but set up the next book nicely. Luckily, I only have to wait until for September for it to come out, which is awesome because I have not had enough of these brothers and cannot wait to dive back into their world. If you are looking for a new paranormal romance that has intriguing new mythology, exhilarating action and some scorching hot romance, then look no further than Blood of the Demon.
