First Thought When Finished: These Demons of Infernum have a kidnapping fetish but it always turns their worlds upside down. As it should!

Story Thoughts: This is the 2nd book in the Demons of Infernum series and each story draws us further into the world. I really enjoy the series overall. I look forward to seeing how each of these brothers contribute to saving our world. The story is solid, the mythology well laid out, and the action is pretty fast! I think the pacing was a little off in the middle but otherwise very entertaining!

Character Thoughts: Rosalie Lario writes good characters. I really liked Maya! She was strong, mouthy, and smart. She had a lot thrown at her in a short amount of time. She had to change her world view on demons and I think she did it with just the right amount of trepidation! Taeg, you wanted to trust him and then you wanted to kick him. He annoyed me and then I wanted to root for him. I think he was a great Alpha male that got blindsided by a spitfire. Served him right. We got to see the other brothers and I am really looking forward to their stories in the future!

Final Thought: I will be counting down to the next brother's book because so far these have been fun afternoon reads that end up making me smile! ( )

Wow! Okay, if you have something that needs to be done, don’t pick up this book. If you don’t have a sense of humor, and you don’t get subtle jibes, don’t pick up this book. If you’re not interested in action packed adventure, demons and humans falling in love, well you know. This might not be the book for you.
However, if you like action the kind that keeps you turning the page because you have to find out what is going to happen next. If you love seeing a woman that is strong, determined and downright spunky, you really need to pick up this book. If you love seeing a man, alright demon, trying to explain to a demon slayer why she really should not take him out, this is the book for you.
Demons come in all sizes and shapes, and there are so many shades of gray. Maya learns through her journey with Taeg that her notions of demons aren’t as cut and dry as her upbringing taught her. She’s got the skills and she’s a demon slaying ball of fire. I loved watching her grow and fall in love with Taeg.
This is a wonderful spellbinding treat! I literally hated putting the book down to cook dinner, fold laundry. All of that mundane stuff could wait! This was a story I wanted to get lost in, and it took me for a wonderful adventure. ( )

If you read my review on the 4th book earlier you know I gushed about these covers, love them! They set the mood for the book perfectly, it's bit dark and has the romance without the buff guy shot ( not that I don't love those as well! ;D ). I really do enjoy Lario's writing, its right up there with the best of them. It's fun, witty, hot and had the right amount of darkness, sadness and tension. And I love a book with tension to keep the chemistry just right! Mark Of The Sylph was great tale of romance, demons, tension and inevitable danger to bring the couple together and sealing the deal.

Maya and Taeg made the best couple, with the fighting and the banter and the scorching hot sex! I loved their chemistry ( and the kidnapping and the tied to the bed bit! ;) ), Taeg felt instant attraction, Maya felt instant hate, and watching much strong Taeg toy with Maya who could hold her own was the best form of couple foreplay! Also this is the first I got to know of the half-demon brothers and boy do they have things going for them, I love guys who act arrogant and snarky and yet completely fall for the girl and give her the whole world and the soft heart they had secretly nurtured the whole time just for her. Can't wait to read more of these books!

The only reason why I didn't give this book the full five stars was because while it was amazing it was slightly slow at parts that made me want to skip a little to get to where Maya and Taeg were the main focus, I could have lived without the enemy's chapters.

You'll love this if... you like your heroines strong in give a run for your money kind of way, and your heroes tough, strong in the will kick your ass six ways till Sunday kind of way - and love seeing them battle out while falling in love, when that's the last thing they should be doing ( )

I fell in love with this world when I read the first book in the series, Blood of the Demon and was excited to dive back in. Since this is the second book in the series, I would recommend reading the first one, but it is not necessary. Rosalie gives you enough back story on the characters and events from the previous book that you will not be confused. If you read the first one however, it will just make the experience of reading Mark of the Sylph more enjoyable.

We rejoin the brothers in Mark of the Sylph pretty much right where we left them before. Taeg is guilt stricken since he feels like he has let Keegan down one too many times. To try and redeem himself, he is searching for a way to break Brynn from the curse that binds her to the book capable of raising an army of the dead. Taeg is the brother that I gravitated toward in the last book, Blood of the Demon, so I was really excited to read a book devoted to just him. He has an extremely sarcastic attitude and a hilarious collection of t-shirts. If I didn’t know better I would think he could just conjure up the perfect shirt for the every occasion, but he does not have that ability. So, his t-shirt choices are just well planned out comic relief for the reader. While hilarious, Taeg does have a serious side and it is seen in the book through his sense of duty. He struggles with loyalty and who he owes allegiance to more, his heart or his family. From the moment he meets Maya, he is intrigued by her and her ability to surprise him constantly. Taeg has always been very confident and a bit of a player, so watching Maya take his ego down a few notches was delightful.

Speaking of Maya, she is a heroine that I warmed up to very quickly. For one she works at a library, gotta love a bookworm, and two, she can totally kick butt when needed. She has grown up with a deep rooted hatred of demons, and rightly so since they are responsible for the death of her family. Therefore, her initial interactions with Taeg are not happy ones. She is not impressed with his unwelcome flirtation and given the chance she would take him out. While Taeg struggles with loyalty, Maya’s inner battle is with breaking preconceived notions of a person, or in this case demon. She believes all demons are evil, period, no exceptions. And Taeg challenges that idea at every turn. This is a theme we see so often in real life, maybe not with demons, but with people in general. Many are far too judgmental of others and Mark of the Sylph addresses that issue with Maya. That expression “Don’t judge a book by its cover” comes to mind. Maybe that should be another t-shirt that Taeg wears, “Don’t judge a demon by its horns!” Haha, sorry could not resist that one.

Okay, back to the book. Mark of the Sylph did have action that kept the characters busy, but there were no curve balls thrown into the plot. I usually expect to have at least one surprise in there just to keep myself and the characters on our toes, but I did have pretty much everything figured out about two thirds of the way through. I really enjoyed the characters though, and their sarcasm and steamy relationship did counteract some of the predictability. I would definitely not let this keep you from reading the book. It is still a great book; it is just focuses more on the relationship between the two main characters, instead of twists and turns in the storyline.

Overall, I really enjoyed the second addition to the Demons of the Infernum series. Taeg was a great alpha male and Maya was a kick butt and take names kind of heroine. The other brothers, as always, had fun banter sessions and kept you falling in love with them. I am looking forward to the next book and discovering which brother Rosalie will let us get to know next. ( )
