The story features annotated emails, social media posts, and diary entries about events that took place in Borneo. The events are slow at the start until hell breaks loose and Tara, as well as her team, panics. Every character has their own writing style so the reading experience is jarring and slow. Nonetheless, this does mean readers can gain insight into the characters as well as create an engaging story. The majority of the book is written in the present tense. This is a personal pleasant way to read since nothing in the future can be foreseen and readers learn what happens at the same time as the characters.
