Nice Regency by an author I've come to like. I think I like the previous series better but I will continue to check out this series. In this one I particularly liked that an older couple, at least in 19th century terms, was the focus of the book.½

I liked that this final installment of the silver linings series wrapped up all of the mysteries. The hero and heroine came across as genuine historical characters, not modernized to fit modern sensibilities. The book was suspenseful but not overly so and I liked the ending. My only small disappointment was that there were some characters who I would have liked to find out more about their fate. So I guess that is actually a plus.

A novella in the Daughters of Allamont Hall series. I really liked this story. The "hero" was not really a hero, just a warm sweet loving man but also sickly. The female lead cared for him because of his sweet nature. And she loved another also but in a more romantic sense and that other also loved the "hero" and they would not consummate their love while he lived. Just a really different story and ending.½

I've read two of the three books:
1 - Lord Reginald - July 11-12 - 3.55 stars
2 - Lord Humphrey - July 12 - 4.55 stars
3 - ...

Hard to believe that a arrogant, care-for-nobody daredevil type would fall for a meek, submissive type. The author picked an unlikely pairing. It sort of worked. But I was left thinking that in real life he would make an abysmal husband after the newness of the marriage wore off. But that's why this book is a romance and we suspend disbelief.½

I liked this story because it was different. Both the husband and wife need to grow and learn to understand each other at the beginning of the story but they do reach that by the end.½

Some definite hints in here about the Duke. I like that you're not sure of a lot of things when the book ends and I also dislike it a little bit. I'm happy that I read the rest of the series first.

I liked the fact that the male POV's took precedence. It makes a nice change from a predominant female POV.½

OK. This was readable but the hero and heroine didn't appeal to me much. The story seemed a little frothy and thin but I liked the hero's father more than the hero.

Enjoyed this one even thought both hero and heroine didn't seem like the brightest bulbs.½

I have to admire how Kingswood managed to make a Dulcie a sympathetic character. In the earlier books she was quite obnoxious. But I liked the way this one turned out.½

Liked this much better than Amy because the heroine was smart, somewhat take charge, and a book lover but this book didn't have the zip of the Silver Linings books or the Woodside books. I wonder if any of the rest of the books in this series are better. Certainly Belle seemed by far the most likable sister to me and the younger one seemed like they were silly and sillier.½

Generally I've been enjoying Kingswood's books but Amy was a wet noodle who didn't enjoy thinking for herself and seemed less than bright. Not my kind of heroine½

I was surprised by this book. I disliked the hero to start with and wasn't sure if the heroine would be the right woman for him but the author does a good job of showing how these people grow and how traits that are not so amiable just fit and improve as the couple gets entwined.

I'm really enjoying these regencies by Kingswood, They feel pretty authentic and I like how she deals with people of various classes and how important class and ancestry was in this period. She also deals with serious issues such as spousal abuse. He hero is a kind gentle man and a list maker. Reliable supportive but not one of these Alpha hero types. Yea!

A very well written Regency. Although there is very little action, there is still some suspense. I thought it was a very enjoyable read and was sorry each time I had to put it down. I want to read the rest of this author's work.

If it's all about the journey - then I enjoyed this ride

Testament to how much all of 'The Daughters' and their hopes beguiled me - Had three other titles on the go mid-read of this - Couldn't finish the others at all - not up to snuff - kept returning here - missed the girls of Allamont Hall too much don't you know - wanted to see how things played themselves out - and with each sister's tale stepping to quite a different tune....very nicely done to the author - keen for more as most of all the read was clever and fun - I'll rate it if I enjoyed it - I rated this - because I enjoyed it - a welcome escape :)
