Critiques

A short but well written book about a footballer's life in the 1930s. The first few chapters are an overview of the game in the period and then ten or so chapters cover individual players and their stories. There are some wonderful stories which evoke a long lost world when footballers were far closer to the working man, travelling on the bus, living in poor accomodation, etc. My only criticism is that the post-football lives of the players featured were not developed a bit more.
