I was considering getting a salamander but decided against it. In the meantime, I checked out this book from the library. Salamanders are indeed weird creatures. Very interesting and unique, though. I learned a lot in just the first two chapters. I think I'll stick with reptiles but I now have a new-found respect for these amphibians.

Some salamanders do not have lungs or gills. They breathe through their skin. Isn't that a fun fact? Unfortunately, due to current pollution levels, a lot of these salamanders are endangered.

I would definitely recommend this book if you are thinking of owning a salamander. Since I opted not to do that, I can't say for sure how helpful the book actually is, but it sure looks helpful.… (plus d'informations)
