This book was an excellent reminder of God's grace in suffering and how saints in the past have responded to the rod of suffering. As someone who has grieved for lost children only second-hand (cousins, nephews, nieces, children of friends, etc.), I cannot fully understand the unspeakable grief accompanying the loss of a child. But this book would surely be a great aid as a comfort and encouragement to those who have been pierced with that Almighty arrow.
