PreS-Gr 2—A simplified but terrific tale, perfect for beginning readers or anyone seeking an exciting and funny
science story about the water cycle, starring the intrepid Cloud. The book is divided into easy chapters that invite
closer inspection of smiling raindrops and other friendly elements, but the facts are sound.

PreS-Gr 1—Hodgson was ahead of neo-nonfiction that reads like a story but delivers hard science with When Cloud
Became a Cloud. This second work is even stronger, placing the sun, moon, and earth in the sky like perennial
buddies, and letting the facts about our skies shine.

An adorable book about the forming of the planets and moon. A good introduction for a tiny aspiring scientist/astronomy enthusiast. There is also an underlying message (and conversation to be had) about loving oneself and ones flaws (Moon loved all her craters-- each one is special!) which I very much appreciate.

This is extremely cute. The author takes some creative license in assigning feelings and intentions to the moon (e.g. "I love my craters!" and "Don't look at my butt!"), but since this is a book for young children (I'd say ages 4 to 8) it works.
