Author Hayes attempts to cover the Canadian Government's approach to UFO's from 1950 to 1995 when the government stopped collecting information about sightings. With the exception of a small number scientists such as Wilbert Smith at the Department of Transport, citizens who reported UFO sightings received uninterested responses. The official response of government officials was that UFO's were meteors or other natural phenomenon that were sighted by people.

Three incidents where there was possible concrete proof turned out not to provide that proof. The three incidents were crop circles in Alberta, the crash landing of a UFO into the water at Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia witnessed by three RCMP officers and an encounter with a UFO by Stefan Michalak at Falcon Lake, Manitoba.

Citizens convinced that they had seen real UFO's became disappointed and eventually angry with their government lack of interest in their experiences resulting in conspiracy theories and non government research groups collecting information and challenging the Government to take their data seriously.… (plus d'informations)
