A brief, but important bookseller biography of "Minnesota's greatest bookseller", Edmund D. Brooks. For 20 Brooks had a store in Minneapolis and also published a good number of books including works by Arthur Symons and the poet, Arthur Upson. His customers included Wiener, Folger, A. Edward Newton, Chesterton and Richard Burton. Written by a newpaperman, the enticing details of specific books bought and sold is missing, but the controversy with a Scottish manuscript is well covered. Brooks' son took over after his death in 1919, but soon decided he would rather just publish books and started his own private press.
