Very good short. Bitey sex with feels hidden under swearing and rough'n'ready attitude.

Most of the story was sex, but there was actually a story and very well written, too.

3.75 stars.

Participating in a march or parade, or really any public event with lots of people around, must be one of the scariest things a blind person can do. The story is very well written, with vivid sounds, touch, and smells replacing what Jim can no longer see. But what really got to me was the emotional impact of what was going on, Jim's reactions and fears - and how he persevered anyway.

Jim, an ex-soldier who can only see intense light and shadowy figures, braves the chaos,in the heat, and with a new guide dog on top of everything else. It's been five years since the accident that cost him his eyesight, and he isn't helpless by any means, but experiencing the world the way he does showed me how much I take being able to see for granted. Asking for help is very difficult for most of us - but for someone like Jim, whom people assume to be helpless, it is more difficult. Showing any "weakness", or need for help, is most likely going to be taken as an admission of that presumes helplessness - something Jim just cannot bear to think about.

I loved how Milo was there for him, how he understood what Jim needed from him, and how he never questioned that Jim was doing his best. Milo also manages to protect Jim without making him feel bad, like when the colonel from Jim's "former life" walks into them kissing and sounds very shocked. This situation could have easily evolved into a very embarrassing one, but Milo saves the day. If I were Jim, I'd ask Milo to marry me too!

If you like sensual, romantic stories with more than a touch of heat, if you enjoy reading about men who experience the world in a very different way, and if you're looking for a short, sweet read that will make you smile, give this story a try. I fell in love with it!
