A be-sneakered bear named Joe tiptoes over the river and through the woods, gathering animal friends as he goes. Together they sneak quietly back to his den where a sweet surprise awaits. Animal movement sounds good for imitating, and repetitive text good for call and response. Big, bold watercolors that exude personality and movement.

Babies can bounce along with the characters, practice opposites (fast and slow, quiet and loud), and mimic the interesting animal sounds. Older readers will delight in the bear's big surprise and the suspense leading up to it.

Song pairings: "The wheels on the bus," "The bear went over the mountain"

A cute story of a bear tiptoeing through toe forest, gathering friends. Tiptoe Joe's friends do their best tiptoeing, but make different noises on their hooves, furry feet, and claws. When they arrive, Tiptoe Joe shows them a sleeping baby bear. Very cute and simple. Good for beginner readers.

This was a super cute book. Joe the bear told his friend one by one to follow him, that he had something to show them, He would explain to be quiet and tip toe. When he and his friends got to the destination we were were surprise with the birth of Joe's son/ bear cub.
