This is very interesting; I wish I had a garden to putz around in! Maybe I can find a way to grow some micro-greens on our balcony.....

This book has a mistake in the subtitle - the word "complete" is missing before the word "guide" (although this book does only deal with soil growing, no hydroponics here). All kidding aside, the authors don't miss a trick, starting with what microgreens are and why one would want to grow them. Following is a section on general growing information with any differences between a home gardener and a commercial grower addressed. Then comes a section of 15+ different greens to grow. Each green has a description that consists of a table of growing/harvesting information, growing/harvesting/washing tips, possible challenges, personal thoughts and (my favorite) a brief history of the plant. A gorgeous full page color photo is included for each plant. The authors then have a section on composting or what to do with your spent soil (the soil that microgreens have been grown in have some special issues that the grower needs to be aware of). Next is a section of microgreen recipes from three Big Sur California chefs plus the author's own favorite salad and greens mixes. To finish there is a troubleshooting section (aka - FAQ) and a section of suppliers and resources. If this book doesn't make you want to get out there and grow your own greens nothing will. I would rate this book with higher than 5 stars if I could - great book.… (plus d'informations)
