Bush and Reagan, Sam and Helen: A Decade with Presidents and the Press, by Marlin Fitzwater (read 12 Feb 1996) This is a book on the ten years the author spent with Reagan and Bush, the time since 1987 till 1993 as press secretary. It is a quite interesting behind the scenes account of that time. The book is somewhat weirdly organized, but I believe there is valid material here for historians of the future. Fitzwater was born in about 1942 in or near Abilene, Kansas, and lived on a farm till he was 15. He then went into journalism, spending time mostly in government in Washington till 1981.
