A fun little diversion.

[Bad Days in History: A Gleefully Grim Chronicle of Misfortune, Mayhem, and Misery for Every Day of the Year] by [Michael Farquhar] Wickedest, weirdest, wildest, grim, true stories of much little known incidents in history. It took me 3 years to finish, but glad I read it and also glad to be finished. Decidedly from a western perspective. 3.5 stars 484 pages
Strictly a "bathroom reader". Collection of goofs, faux pas, bad judgment calls, and catastrophes, dealt out one per day. Some of the subjects are prominent (Louis XVI, Julia Child, Richard Nixon), others more obscure. There's no unifying theme here, and Farquhar sometimes attempts to be too cutesy when dealing with death, disaster, and defeat.
He does find some occasional curiosities, but this is definitely a dip-into-occasionally book, and not one you want to sit down with for an afternoon of solid reading.… (plus d'informations)

Short stories about deceptions. Good read, some were scary, how easily the world can be manipulated and fall for hoaxes.
