Die Stimme der Sprecherin geht nicht. Sie macht die Hauptfiguren derart zickig, dass sie nur unsympathisch wirken und dadurch die Stimmung des Buches gar nicht passt.

Great fun

Hannah Ellis gets what's important in life. She made me miss my old gang. Also, the end made me happy cry which rarely happens

'She scanned the shore, then inhaled the glorious mix of salt and sea-weed that floated on the breeze. There were wild flowers growing beside the path, and their gentle beauty seemed at odds with the fierceness of the sea and the rocks bordering the sandy cove.'

~5/5 Stars~

Elizabeth Beaumont has everything she ever wanted, or so she thought. She has a high powered career, with a promotion looming, and she's due to get married to her partner of ten years.

However, when her fiancé puts work before her, she sets off on their much anticipated holiday alone. She falls in love with the beautiful Hope Cove, and it's not just the scenery that catches her eye.

The more time she spends with the boy next door, the more she starts to question everything about her life. All good things must come to and end however, and all too soon she has to return to reality;back to the life and the man she loves,or does she?

~My Thoughts~

I'm a real sucker for a Romance novel at the moment, especially when they're set by the sea. This could be due to the fact that we're in lockdown and what I want more than anything right now is a trip to the seaside. I've always felt more relaxed by the sea, and It's my dream to one day move to the coast. This book is set in the beautiful Hope Cove in Devon, a place I would love to visit;especially after reading this wonderful book.

I loved how Elizabeth's character changed throughout the story. She started out career obsessed, unable to tear herself away from her work; to the point that even her boss couldn't believe she could go a whole week without checking her emails. She was very judgemental towards her younger sister, Josie, who she looks down on because she doesn't have the same drive to succeed. Although I believe that deep down she may have been harbouring jealously towards her, since she's so able to switch off and just enjoy life.

After spending a week with Max in Hope Cove however, she becomes much more easy going, and I loved seeing that transformation. Although I did feel sorry for her fiancé Phil however,as the only thing he's really guilty of is being too wrapped up in work. Elizabeth was like that herself, and is now realising that she wants different things from life, and poor Phil is bearing the brunt of it.

Overall, this book really sucked me in, to the point that I had to hide away for a few hours on my birthday so I could read some more! The setting is so beautifully described that I fell in love with Hope Cove without even seeing any pictures of it, and It's left me craving a seaside break even more. This is only the first book in the Hope Cove series; with the second, Escape to Oakbrook Farm, focusing on Josie.

~The Author~

Hannah Ellis is originally from Sheffield, and now lives in Germany. She also spent time in Australia, Ireland and America. As well the Hope Cove series, she has also penned the Friends Like These series, the Lock Lannick series, and several standalones.

~Buying the book~

This book is currently available for free from Prime Reading, which is how I read it. The Hope Cove series is also available for Kindle Unlimited subscribers, and if you're a prime member you can also borrow the second book, Escape to Oakbrook Farm, from the Kindle Owner's Lending library. It's also available to buy from Amazon.

Awesome book, I highly recommend it.
my full review on my blog at https://reaviewallaboutit.blogspot.com.au
The story had me from the beginning and it built the characters very well. The detail in the story is done very well, without it being to much. At no time did I get bored with the story and I was always wanting more and couldn't wait until I could read again. The editing is probably the best I have seen in a long time, I do not recall finding one spelling mistake, which is really rare.… (plus d'informations)
