"Images of America" series, stories told with photographs and some text. Oracle author who lived and has family and friends in the area tells the story well and gathered photos from local people as well as the Historical societies. She does indicate, inaccurately, that Mrs. E.L. Wood gave away only one piece of property, when in fact, she had lived in two places, near Campo Bonito and in Peppersauce Canyon. The former went to the YMCA and the latter to the Salvation Army, now Sycamore Academy. The Triangle-Y (YMCA) has kept her home there intact and added historical information next door. Sycamore Academy retains only the fireplace and chimney of her cabin there as the original burned before they acquired it.… (plus d'informations)

One of those great historical picture books - by the author of Oracle and the San Pedro, this book give the basic history of the White Mountains in pictures and few words. One of a series now available at elboe for those exploring in day-trips (or longer) from the Oracle Area. Available at the Oracle Market.
