This book was received in exchange for an honest review. This text is an interesting addition to my gifted education library. When evaluated lesson-by-lesson, the book is compelling and engaging, and I cannot wait to try some of these lessons next year. Viewed as a curriculum, however, the book is a little overwhelming. I love the inclusion of worksheets to save a little bit of unnecessary labor on the part of the busy teacher!

I sometimes struggle to find things that will help my daughter who is so often bored with curriculum for her age. Thanks for all these very helpful learning tools!

I have used the lessons in this book one-on-one with my daughter during homeschool. Although I think it would work better with a small group, everything can be adapted easily for one-on-one lessons. The lessons are fun and engaging and provide great opportunities for discussion about developing the character to become a good leader, which I believe is primary point to any leadership course. Lessons are a good length and the worksheets included are well-designed. I will likely use this text with a small group this next fall, which I think should go very well.

This book is an excellent resource for teaching kids leadership skills. It is laid out in a simple format over 40 lessons and includes activities for every lesson. I believe some more in depth narrative guidance would be helpful for the teacher, especially for youth group leaders, homeschool moms, etc. who have never had formal leadership training, so they are not familiar with the lingo or exactly where the discussions should be going.

I found this to be a great resource for cultivating leadership skills in students. The breakdown of leadership styles is very helpful. The lesson plans are easy to understand and offer a good variety of activities to interest a wide range of students. The activities are too advanced for students in the early grades, but as a kindergarten teacher I did get some ideas that would be useful in my classroom.

Leadership for Kids is an excellent resource instilling leadership skills among students.

It breaks down leadership into four main styles, or frames, labeled as: Structural, Human Resource, Political and Symbolic.

The workbook begins with an overall discussion of what exactly leadership consists of and offers a test for the student to take; I myself was on the structural-symbolic ends of the spectrum.

I found the various discussions and projects quite helpful; with an aside niggle of a the lack of 'print' media as a basis for leadership - they relied upon digital media instead. I find print biographies myself to be very helpful in studying different types of leadership.

Nonetheless, my wife and I - along with our child - enjoyed working through this book.

I'd highly recommend it in almost any educational environment; although intended for a regular classroom setting I found it perfectly adaptable to the home-school setting as well.

This is a great supplemental learning text that can be used by both parents and teachers. It helps children identify leaders in entertainment, politics and media. It also helps them think critically and creatively while congruently helping them develop their own leadership skills within themselves. The handouts are easily photocopied, done by students and graded accordingly.

This has got some great project ideas to really halp a child grasp the concept of leadership. I really like how the book is layed out in the order in which the lessons come. Each lessons builds from the previous one.

Leadership is something that is extremely important and starting early will help a young learner have a great headstart on the skills.

Highly recommended.½
