The proof of what I’ve stated can be found in reading JEREMIAH 29:11 [NLT]:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
I’ve found in my journey that it goes without saying that despite how devout we might be as Christians, many of us still find it demanding to obtain the hope we require to persevere. The good thing is that whenever we require reassurance or renewal for our spirit, we can turn to the words of the Lord.
We’re reminded in HEBREWS 10:23 [NKJV] of what we need to be doing:
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
Given the hope that we receive from the Lord, we need to proclaim that which we read in PSALM 18:2 [NKJV]:
“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
Being the faith-driven Christian woman I am now, having gone through my own period of hopelessness, I know that my Brethren-in-Christ, feeling this way and still believing in the words of the Lord, require that they are shown a biblical example of an individual surviving a life fraught with hopelessness.
In this book, author Peter DeHaan provides his readers with the perfect individual whose life had been fraught with frequent disasters and unspeakable losses and still had been to survive everything; this individual is Job.
Broken down into 40 chapters, by chapter and verse, this book is best read as a devotional, as it follows Job’s life from his desperation to his deliverance from the abyss he had been in; while at the same time never losing his faith in the Lord. Readers can compare their situations to Job’s and realize the importance of maintaining their trust in the Lord to gain a jubilant self-assurance in the Lord despite the situation they are in.
As Christians, this book will remind us that no matter what we might have to endure during our lives, the Lord will always be at our sides so nothing can befall us.
For giving his readers an inspirational devotional reading experience regarding never losing hope, that reminds us of how I started this review with JEREMIAH 29:11 [NLT]:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
I’ve given Mr. DeHann 5 STARS for his endeavor here.… (plus d'informations)
