Don Dedera (1929–2020)

Don Dedera publishes extensively on life in the American Southwest, specifically Arizona. His works encompass specific historical topics such as medical techniques and medication used by early pioneers; collecting Pima Indian baskets; the theory and practice of law in Arizona; descriptions of the afficher plus state's land, plants, and animals; and the story of the family who first designed cowboy boots. He has also written a broad history on the growth of Phoenix, the sixth largest city in the United States. Dedera's books include Navajo Rugs, How to Find, Evaluate, Buy and Care for Them, Artistry in Clay: Contemporary Pottery of the Southwest, The Cactus Sandwich: and Other Tall Tales of the Southwest, You Know You're an Arizona Native When ..., and A Little War of Our Own: The Pleasant Valley Feud Revisited.
