Long ago, a group of vampires went down with Atlantis in order to guard the monsters that Atlantis keeps imprisoned.  To help the vampires sustain themselves, previous leaders have enslaved the human Descendants of Atlantis to feed them.  Current leader, Ian believes differently.  When Ian gets word that one of his prisoners, Norgis, has escaped to Miami, he takes action and returns to the surface to hunt Norgis down.  Ian picks up Norgis' scent immediately along with the scent of his brother.  Ian also detects an irresistible scent of a woman, Katherine, that Norgis has targeted for an artifact that she has.  Now, Ian is trying to protect Katherine, track down Norgis and stop his brother's plot to rule Atlantis.   Vampires of Atlantis is a fast paced paranormal romance. The story dives right into the action with Norgis escaping.  I felt a little lost or like I had missed something for the first half of the book with no knowledge of how Atlantis worked, why anyone was down there and why it was so important to find the monster and Ian's brother.  Regardless, the story is action packed and fun as Ian and his team track Norgis, come into contact with other dangerous groups and try to protect Katherine while she finds out the truth about herself.  Ian and Katherine have an insta love romance aided by vampire blood and a few steamy scenes.  I had a hard time with Katherine's character as she seems to blindly follow Ian and doesn't seem to have anything attaching her to her life.  Katherine does redeem herself a bit when she realizes several times that she might be being held prisoner and fights back. Once the team returned to Atlantis, missing pieces started to fill in and I enjoyed learning about how and why the vampires lived at the bottom of the ocean.  The ending was exciting and amped up the danger.  Overall, an exciting and enjoyable vampire read.  This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

Fawn Malero, Supernatural P.I. and magician, is back with her crew, an assembly of magicians, werewolves, vampires, witches and warlocks, elves, and sea creatures, with the power to shift into human form. This time, her city is being over run with a plague of rabbits. Rabbits are appearing everywhere! As soon as Fawn tries to get rid of some, more appear to take their place. An important vampire is getting married to Fawn's rival for Logan and it is crucial to rid the city of the rabbits and their mess before the wedding party arrives. In addition to this, the weather has become crazy, one minute heatwaves, the next snow storms! Ruling out humans as the cause, Fawn must discover how the supernatural is involved. Could it be the doing of the rogue magician, who was caught selling magic items illegally and is now in "jail" in Fawn's father's home, or is a secretive mysterious stranger involved?
This is the second Fawn Malero book that I have read and it won't be the last. Courtney Davis has a talent for bringing to life an appealing cast of unusual characters and giving them human qualities. The reader becomes involved in their love lives and personal problems. Will Fawn and her werewolf lover, Logan, marry? Will her pregnant friend, Jasmine be finally rid of her abusive husband, Maddox, and find happiness with another? I also love the characters rock star fashion sense, all their outrageous outfits.
In between the series of adventures which lead up to an exciting conclusion in a supernatural battle of powers, Fawn's character grows through solving problems of others. She proves that her parents can be as proud of her as they are with her brothers in protecting their city. And just maybe she can be a definite asset to Logan in his role as alpha leader of his werewolf pack.
When you need some light reading to cheer you up and take you away, this definitely fits the bill!

I received an early review copy of the book.

Vampires of Atlantis caught my eye because I had never seen the two paired. Miss Davis does give us a picture of Vampires in Atlantis, so it's not just a gimmicky title.

Main and secondary characters are sufficiently developed. There us one - the best friend - I hope gets more in the 2nd book.

Speaking of the 2nd book Davis set the stage nicely. Enough with a new group (werewolves, of course) so the reader anticipates reading the next story.

Paranormal romance with a unique premise: what if Atlantis was a city of vampires? Ian is the ruling prince of Atlantis. With his vampire brethren, he guards this underwater prison containing Earth's greatest monsters. Then one escapes. Ian must travel to the surface for the first time in a long while to recapture the monster known as Norgis. Once on land, his plan is soon derailed as he smells the most alluring scent and discovers... Katharine, a curator at a museum in Miami. She doesn't have much going on in her life, until she crosses paths with Norgis and Ian jumps in to save her. He knows that they are destined for each other, and Katharine is starting to feel it too. But capturing Norgis won't be easy, especially when other paranormal beings come into the picture.

The concept of Atlantis being a prison for monsters, overseen by vampire protectors, is such a fun idea. I was hoping for a bit more depth in the worldbuilding though. This is a short novel, so hopefully we will get more in future installments. The romance was enjoyable. It's classic insta-love. Ian is a sexy leading man, though definitely overbearing. Katherine needs to marshal her strength and continue to stand up to him. I'd love to see more of the werewolves and more of the imprisoned monsters, including Vane, in the future. Excited to see where this series can go.

WOW! Vampires living underwater in Atlantis, werewolves, and Descendants above ground to battled for dominance, this book has it all and I loved it! Prince Ian of Atlantis refused to become king over his older brother who was not fit to be king. I love Katherine who had no idea who her parents were and her desire to dig for artifacts instead of working at a museum. When she was attacked by a monster, and left for dead. This is my first book I read from this and it will not be my last!!!

This book is a romance/action thriller based on the idea that vampires were once the ruling class, living in Atlantis. In exchange for the vampires' protection from other "monsters" roaming the earth, Atlantis' residents agreed to provide food in the form of blood offerings to their vampire protectors. Fast forward a few millenia, and the vampires start having ethical concerns about holding the Atlantis residents in thrall with no choice but to allow the vamps to feed from them. So they allow the residents to leave and they sink Atlantis to the bottom of the ocean, in order to keep the monsters in prisons below the sea.

"Descendants" are the children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, etc., of the original Atlantis humans. They live on land, as do werewolves and the remains of a vampire hunting group. Long story short, a monster escapes the undersea prison, and the prince of the vampires goes off to recapture him. In the process, he meets a descendant who instantly becomes his soulmate. Hijinks ensue....

This book read like a comic book/graphic novel to me. There were fights, kidnappings, spells, treasure hunts, and too many magical/supernatural beings to count! It seemed to go from one crazy situation to the next! Which is not to say I didn't enjoy it - I did. It was just...a lot. And although I think the author did a reasonably good job at world-building, there were just so many characters, clans, and creatures with so many different backstories, battles, and beliefs that it was like an entire universe condensed down into a short novel. So, a lot.

I think the author did a fairly good job at world-building, but I didn't find any universal human truths in this book. More like it was all action, all the time - like a comic book or graphic novel, as I said. My favorite parts were the spin she put on why Vampires and Werewolves do what they do, but the plot doesn't get much deeper than that.

I think one of the things that I disliked the most about this story is that for every rule that supposedly applied to this world the author created, there was always some reason why that rule didn't apply to one of the main characters. You know how a little kid will earnestly tell a tall tale to stay out of trouble, inventing imaginary characters and excuses for how the cookies got eaten or the crayon got on the wall? It was a little bit like that. A little bending of the rules (even the ones the author makes herself) is acceptable and even desireable, but as in real life, too much of a good thing turns it into not so good of a thing.

I rate the individual components of the book as follows:

Hero - 4/5 stars
heroine - 3/5 stars
Supporting characters - 4/5 stars
Dialogue - 2/5 stars
World building - 3/5 stars
Grammar/syntax - 3/5 stars
Sex scenes - 3/5 stars
Battle scenes - 3/5 stars
Plot - 4/5 stars
Pacing - 3/5 stars
Average - 3.2 out of 5 stars, rounded down to a very solid and respectable 3

I would recommend this book to someone who just wants to read a shallow action story full of supernatural creatures and events. I would not recommend this story to anyone who is looking for something with more substance or subtlety.

I received an ARC for this book and the preceding is my honest opinion, given without compensation.

I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this title from LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review.

Vampires in Atlantis centers on the premise that Atlantis served as a prison for monsters with vampires for guards. When Atlantis sank near the Bermuda Triangle, the monsters and the vampires went to the bottom of the sea and continued their existence. When the novel begins, the vampire leader, Ian, has risen to the surface world for the first time in centuries in search of a monster that had escaped its cell in Atlantis. Once on the surface, Ian encounters Katherine, a museum curator who specializes in archaeological displays. The chemistry is immediate and intense between Ian and Katherine as they unite to try and defeat the escaped Atlantean monster named Jovi, who just happens to be Ian’s brother. There are several subplots involving werewolves, intriguing imprisoned monsters, and Atlantean warriors that will hopefully be expanded in future books in the series. I enjoyed this book and hope the author continues the series. Fans of Gena Showalter’s Atlantis series will love this entry into the Atlantis lexicon.

This book is overall a quick and fun read, but it fell a little flat for me. I enjoyed Baal as a character and some of the banter, but felt there were some gaps in the plot of the pre-publication ARC. I didn't understand the necessity for Jade's background to be in Witness Protection and those moments where her past came into play were what threw me off the most and ultimately led to me not thouroughly enjoying the story.

The kindle formatting for this was really problematic which was very distracting. Outside of that, the book is fine. Nothing really stands out - it’s not horrible but it falls a little bit flat.

I got a copy from the Early Reviewers.

The book starts with a promise of great things, but it seems that it ends there, in a promise. The events were very fast-paced with no real development of either the world, the characters, or the situation. It has the potential to be so much more.
The characters were indeed great as a pair but besides the sexual tension, there is no substantial relationship.
The ending was a little bit of a let-down but all in all was a nice quick read.

I received an early reviewer’s copy of this book. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed it. It’s a quick read, and starts out with an unlikely heroine, a woman entering witness protection that appears to have landed in the middle of nowhere and with no prospects for anything more. And, it literally changes overnight. Enter shifters, angels, vampires, demons, witches, elves and other supernatural folk. The characters are likable, none will give you nightmares, but you know which ones are the bad guys. I would love to see more of these characters and see where life takes them. Do they get the girl (or guy) of their dreams? It’s a romance, but there are not a lot of explicit love scenes. Sex is referred to, but without a lot of details, if that is a concern. I definitely recommend this book!

This is a book that had so much to give. The characters were interesting and so was the world but it fell a little flat in exploration. It seemed rushed from middle to end. The relationships only snippets. There are a world of possibilities within this book that could go farther and wider. I hope the author seizes those opportunities because if so with a little more world building and character development this could easily be a fan favorite. Even an epic series if done right. I want to thank the author for the ARC I received and I look forward to what the future holds for her.

This book was not great. Putting aside the fact that it was an advanced reader's copy and many of the grammar and spelling issues will be taken care of, I simply could not get into the story. It had so much potential, but every time I thought it would get better, the story petered out. The characters had seemed great to start, but ended up being very flat, and the plot moved too fast for any real development, either of the characters or their emotions, or the actual plot. Also, for the amount of sexual tension between the two main characters, the actual sexual interactions between them were very tame. If you're not looking for anything other than a quick sexy read, it's fine, but I felt it was lacking in depth and substance.

I give this book a solid 3.5 stars. I enjoyed it very much. I thought the plot had lots of potential, the characters were solid and the sexual tension was off the charts.
Having said that I did have some things I didn’t like. It is very fast paced, all the events take place over maybe 2 weeks. I just found it took you out of the story because things were just happening too fast. I found the middle got slightly messy and hard to follow and the ending was very anticlimactic. I thought the author was gearing up for a big battle but no such luck. I also would have liked a bit more spice between the main characters considering how much sexual tension they had.
Overall I did enjoy the book very much, was a nice quick read.

Sometimes, you just want to read, something to take the stress away, something fun, something light. Then, this is the book for you! The plot is simple. Fawn Malero has just gotten a new case, when a mysterious female, named Eldoris, asks for her help. Something is harming the ocean and making all who dwell there weak. It's up to Fawn to find the culprit, a Magician, who has been selling magical secrets to humans.
The characters are fascinating, what makes this book special. First there's Fawn, a Magician herself, her boyfriend Logan, who's a Werewolf, various members of a Vampire clan, as well as other Werewolves, Lila and Kyle, creatures who live in the sea like Eldoris, who can change from an octopus into human form. The rich descriptions of their characters and physical attributes as well as their smells keep you enthralled. It's like watching a fantasy costume party. We laugh when the sea creatures shift into human form and get excited by riding in a car and listening to music and are puzzled on how to wear clothes like humans, especially thongs! My favourite characters are two minor personalities, the cats, who belong to Fawn. Who can't help but smile when they sniff each new arrival to Fawn's home and think of food, food, hungry! Along with the mystery and hunt for the evil, mysterious Mr. S, romantic rivalry is thrown into the mix.

If you enjoy romantic fantasy mysteries, then this book is for you.

This is a fascinating story. Elle grew up not knowing that she is a princess of another world. When she becomes an adult, she learn s of it after the lady that raised her passes on. Quite entertaining due to the humor between Elle and locan as he tries to adjust to Earth to find her. Their travels back to her world are an adventure of intrigue and thrills. There is a bit of romance scattered throughout. I loved reading about the ladies that escaped in the pods to have their children on Earth. I found the characters well-thought out. They kept you wanting to know more. Elle and Locan had chemistry. You could feel the sparks. Warrior was a bit of a grump. The plot was out of this world (pun intended). An entertaining book that engages you from beginning to end. Fans of strong female character romance and fans of fantasy romance will love this story. A new author to me, I will be looking for more of her books to read.

A spider-shifter for a main character makes for an incredible new world of possibilities. I’ve never read anything with a Webmaker before and found this to be a more magical and interesting story because of it. I felt like I was reading the wild-west equivalent of urban fantasy and wasn’t sure what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed reading more about this world. The story had a great and natural flow to it that got me to read it faster than I would have with a book of a similar length. The author created an amazing tale with a strong, female lead, enthralling plot, and intriguing side characters!

This book was a definite treat for a fantasy reader like me. It was the first I read with a spider shifter. Aranha is a spider who thinks she is on the verge of extinction. She meets up with Dag, a daywalker who feels the same. Neither really trusts the other. They both end up on a mission that brings surprises. The book is full of action. I even finished it with my fear of spiders. The description of her fangs coming down, shifting into a spider or her little buddies coming out creeped me out. It made the book even better. I loved seeing the bit of romance develop between Dag and Aranha because walls had to fall. Twists and turns throughout the plot made it kind of like a wild slide. The characters were cool in a butt kicking way. I definitely recommend this.
