Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This book is overall a quick and fun read, but it fell a little flat for me. I enjoyed Baal as a character and some of the banter, but felt there were some gaps in the plot of the pre-publication ARC. I didn't understand the necessity for Jade's background to be in Witness Protection and those moments where her past came into play were what threw me off the most and ultimately led to me not thouroughly enjoying the story.Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. The kindle formatting for this was really problematic which was very distracting. Outside of that, the book is fine. Nothing really stands out - it’s not horrible but it falls a little bit flat.I received an ARC through Early Reviewers in exchange for a review Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. I got a copy from the Early Reviewers. The book starts with a promise of great things, but it seems that it ends there, in a promise. The events were very fast-paced with no real development of either the world, the characters, or the situation. It has the potential to be so much more. The characters were indeed great as a pair but besides the sexual tension, there is no substantial relationship. The ending was a little bit of a let-down but all in all was a nice quick read. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. I received an early reviewer’s copy of this book. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed it. It’s a quick read, and starts out with an unlikely heroine, a woman entering witness protection that appears to have landed in the middle of nowhere and with no prospects for anything more. And, it literally changes overnight. Enter shifters, angels, vampires, demons, witches, elves and other supernatural folk. The characters are likable, none will give you nightmares, but you know which ones are the bad guys. I would love to see more of these characters and see where life takes them. Do they get the girl (or guy) of their dreams? It’s a romance, but there are not a lot of explicit love scenes. Sex is referred to, but without a lot of details, if that is a concern. I definitely recommend this book! Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This is a book that had so much to give. The characters were interesting and so was the world but it fell a little flat in exploration. It seemed rushed from middle to end. The relationships only snippets. There are a world of possibilities within this book that could go farther and wider. I hope the author seizes those opportunities because if so with a little more world building and character development this could easily be a fan favorite. Even an epic series if done right. I want to thank the author for the ARC I received and I look forward to what the future holds for her. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
The prophecy says she'll destroy him, but if he doesn't reveal too much, will she help him rule Hell?Jade is in witness protection and finds herself in possession of a store full of magical items. She has no idea what she is, and he knows he can use her for his own plans.Jade tentatively trusts Baal and agrees to help him, but the four realms are all fighting for control of earth and its inhabitants.
