I was hoping for a bit more angst and insecurity on the part of the heroine but it was pretty angst-less. Short and cute, with some steamy sex, just not quite what I was looking for (2.5 stars)

Nicely done little erotic novella. Not a lot of plot just a couple of days in the life of a soldier home on medical leave and his best friend's sister. She is getting over a bad divorce and they let out the feelings they've had for each other. Believable emotions and nicely done hot sex scenes.

First book in a series about brothers who run a dude ranch.. Deacon Dumen is at the ranch recovering from an injury he received while an Air Force Pararescueman.. Jessica Talbot flies in from Seattle for her friends bachelorette party the ranch. Deacon describes himself perfectly in the book
He might not be fully into the BDSM scene and want submission outside of the sexual relationship like some Doms did but he had a dominant streak a mile wide and it defiantly translated into the bedroom
. This was this authors first erotic romance and she nailed it.. I am looking forward to reading the other 3 brothers books in the series..

This was just OK as far as I'm concerned. I much prefer M/M but was in the mood for M/F. Dillon was an impressive alpha male, which I enjoyed very much.

Bam... you don't see that coming. Well, the cover might be intimidating but actually this is not quite a bad novella. Even if its エロティカ BDSM... not. Actually, its quite an average adult romance novel.

But for a short story, this novella actually have a plot and story progression which made it a nicer read that some novels that I had gone through 300 pages to find one.

The writing style is simple, descriptive (hmm..) and easy. The characterization is straight forward, the side characters weren't prominent thoroughly but enough to keep the story going. Despite the blurb, which sounded cheesy, the story is actually a simple story of a man who had waited for his right woman to let him inside her insecurity and was there when she needed him the most. In fact, half of the book was about Talia having doubts and then had to face her ghosts before she could move forward. To be perfectly honest, she's far more afraid to let go than her mother's hoarding OCD.

The story of two marines in love is nothing new. It doesn't add much to the length but it helped with the settings and interconnecting scenes from beginning to the end. The length of the story doesn't allow much to go through but unlike your run of the mill Harlequin novels. The story is comparable and light-hearted. Yes, some of the scenes can raise your blood pressure but wasn't too risqué for readers who are not keen on a serious tone of the genre.

Again, its not a heavy エロ despite being considered one by the publisher, this is definitely not your 50 shades of fanfic cheesiness or Ellora's Cave usual above than average romance genres.

Review copy from Carina Press and the ebook is published in 21st May. Which was a couple of days ago so if you like a light read than your average mild-romance books, you should try this.

Jessica has dropped everything to be part of the bachelorette party at the dude ranch. Not looking forward to leaving her world behind, she comes armed with mobile phone and laptop, ready to continue her work in-between the revelry. When a hunky cowboy turns up as her ride from the airport to the ranch, she can’t quite believe her luck. Immediately, attraction flares between the two of them and soon the car journey is starting to get them both a little hot under the collar. But Jess is off limits to Deke as a guest at the ranch and Deke is a complication that Jess doesn’t need after her broken relationship. Both have their doubts, but when they keep finding themselves alone together, soon the attraction is too strong to deny. Once they succumb to the inevitable heat that is between them, they head on a sensual and emotional journey together. But the bachelorette party is a short term holiday and soon Jess will be returning home. Will they be content to part ways after such a short, hot fling? Or will they find another outcome to find out if they are a more than just sex?

I was given this novella as a review copy but I will be quite happy to part with my money for the next two. I didn’t expect such as emotional core to such a short little smutty book, but that is what I found. Jessica was a woman that needed a break. As a person who is often too busy to leave work at work, I understood the stress that she was under not to take a break at a crucial point. She needed a break and by golly did Deacon give her one. He was a tall, dark mysterious cowboy with a painful military background. Injured during a jump landing, he has been living with the pain since his return and he just isn’t the same. He hasn’t been excited in a long time, but Jess certainly excites him. When she starts to show interest in him too, he can’t resist trying to coax her to succumb to his charms.

Once they begin to explore their kinkier side, the feelings that have been developing since their initial meeting, start to explode. I enjoyed the build-up to the sex scenes; the flirtatious looks, the coy smiles and the hot and steamy kisses were enough to whet my appetite for a romance. It was obvious that these two were heading for the bedroom, that what would happen would be satisfying for both them and me. What I didn’t expect was the depth of feeling that started to develop between these two. Neither of them knew what to expect from the other, but what they find are people who are happy to accept and soothe all aspects of their characters.

A fabulous steamy Cowboy novella with a lovely little plot and a believable love story. There are another two brothers on the dude ranch and I will be reading both of their books.

I love any story with military heroes and this was no exception. Liam, a former Marine, has always had a crush on Talia, but she's always kept him at a distance. Now she's home on leave in time for Thanksgiving, but the nostalgia all around her just makes her feel even more lonely. When her best friend and her hot, older brother, Liam, surprise her at the airport, she's overwhelmed. They've always seen her as a part of their family, but she's never told them the full truth about her only living relative, her mother. While Liam's crush flames anew upon seeing her again, he knows she's hiding something from him. When he finds out about her secret, Talia is even more determined to stay away from Liam, and thwart his advances. In a moment of grief and weakness, she succumbs to his charms. Liam thinks he's gained serious ground with her only to find out that she's more stubborn than he is.

There aren't any BDSM elements in this story. Liam is simply one hell of an alpha male. He wants her badly, but he's incredibly sweet and gentle when it comes to her. I fell for him immediately.

Talia frustrated me to no end. In the beginning I understood her shame and wanting to keep her mother's condition a secret. I didn't really understand her assumptions that Liam's family would shun her because of it, after having known her for so long. I felt really sorry for Liam towards the end after the second rejection. I would have liked to have read her thoughts when she had her epiphany. I wanted to see it and not be told what she's ultimately decided. I'd still read this again, but mainly because of Liam :)

If you read this, make sure you read [b:No Holds Barred|12042746|No Holds Barred|Callie Croix|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1313159029s/12042746.jpg|17009438] first. I didn't, but it takes place before Let Me In. When Liam and Talia are catching up, he tells her that his friend Nathan got married. He goes on to remember the threesome he participated in with Nathan and his then fiancee Cait. He also vows never to tell Talia about that. I got so wrapped up in Talia and Liam, reading about him with the other couple just seems a little like a betrayal. I may change my mind because my curiosity is getting the better of me.

A Navy SEAL dominates and conquers in this scorching hot erotic romance!

One thing I like about this author is the attention she pays to authenticity and the research she does when it comes to her military heroes. I found that she captured this Navy SEAL’s job and the rituals quite accurately. Aside from that, Covert Seduction really lived up to its title through the sizzling hot eroticism going on between Reid and Becca. The sex wasn’t rough and kinky just for the sake of fitting them in there to fill in the moments of non-danger. The scenes were highly erotic, but with the undercurrent of a love not acknowledged by either of them. I wanted to yell at them to just talk like a pair of grown ups.

I’m not sure the corporate embezzlement plot worked to an advantage here. It didn’t serve to get Reid to come to her (which I would preferred). I also didn’t find it all that believable that the hired thugs turned out to be mere amateurs. The danger was almost a bit laughable. With a SEAL as the protector, give him a real challenge. Since the story is a short one, the drama basically got swallowed up among all the sex.

I came across one reviewer who felt that Becca should have shown more compassion, patience and understanding after she found out that a tragic mission had taken the life of twenty of Reid’s men. Finding out about it on the news, and then weeks later having to hear that he had been briefly in touch with his family to let them know he was okay, but not her, I could absolutely understand why she thought their relationship hadn’t meant as much to him. Besides, I honestly don’t think that any relationship in limbo can survive a deployment without clear communication beforehand. So really, they’re both at fault for not addressing the “what ifs” before he shipped out.

Overall, I thought the story was very enjoyable. I felt a little numb towards the sex after the third intense scene, but each encounter was definitely well written. If you like that sort of thing, you’ll be panting away in tandem with Becca. Trust me! My absolute favorite moment was towards the end. I teared up because even I could feel the significance of the moment through the words:

Stunned, she gaped at him. “I can’t take your Trident,” she protested, blinking back tears even as she curled protective fingers around it. The pin lay solid against her breastbone, warm from his body heat. The significance of that wasn’t lost on her.

[...]

“It’s not a ring, but it makes the same promise. More so, in some ways. It means that if something ever happens to me, my teammates will come to you. They’ll take care of you if for some reason I can’t.”

3.75 rounded up to 4

Yee ha cowboy! This was fucking HOT! If you can stand the girlie bits, Deke is the mouth watering Alpha Male Ex-Military Cowboy of your dreams. Smoking hot sex. This is the first in a series of the Dume brothers, who own a dude ranch in Texas. I ALL OVER the remaining three books in the series.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Navy SEAL Reid Galvin is back from hell and eager to find comfort in Becca Anderson's arms. He knows he hurt her when he cut contact during his deployment, so when his call interrupts her date with another man, he has only himself to blame. But he can't forget what she means to him—or the sexy email she sent him—and he won't miss this chance to claim her as his own.

It's been weeks since Becca heard from the man she thought she was involved with. So when Reid wants to take up where they left off as if nothing happened, she refuses. Then he rescues her from a first date gone very wrong, and she realizes she's not quite ready to let him go.

Reid and Becca have a lot to talk about, but since she's not listening, he's going to have to regain her trust another way—by bringing her most erotic fantasies to life. Making her surrender to pleasure just might be his most important mission.

REVIEW:
This was actually very touching! I loved the opening and found the entire story to be very sweet, sexy, and real. I loved the characters she developed and found each point made, one I gripped on to even more.

The suspense and danger in the piece was also great, but I do wish it would have given a bit more at the end, hence four stars instead of five, but the writing was on par, the romance hot and steamy, and the characters entirely loveable.

If you’re looking for something to keep you on the edge of your seat for both suspense and sexiness, then pick this one up today! Four out of five stars for a great job!

This was a very quick and wonderful read for me. I found it easy to get sucked into Talia life and all the problems that swirl around in her brain and life. Croix has written Talia as such an independent and hardheaded character that it takes a lot for her to succumb to anyone’s help, especially Liam’s. And when he tries to help, she pushes him away. But when he makes her take his help, oh boy, that is when the story starts to get good! I will say that Croix has written Talia perfectly because she is always the one making hard decisions for her mother’s sake and doing time after time has slowly started to wear her down, but when Liam jumps in and starts to help, he takes the control away from her, which is exactly what she needs.

Liam made the book! He is everything a man should be; loving, family orientated, protective, strong, and confident. He knows what he wants and he plans to have it; poor Talia just doesn’t know that what he wants is herself.

Check this book out! The worst that can happen is that you will end up adding Liam to your list of multiple “husbands” like I did.

Touch Me by Callie Croix is a good story, but a forgettable one. I found this book to be a quick read that was good but not great.

Alex is sent home to recover from a military injury. Staying in his house is Tianna, a recently divorced friend who is emotionally marred by her ex-husbands PTSD. The attraction between Alex and Tia is electric from the very beginning and does not disappoint throughout the story.

There were many good things about the book that I liked. A strong sexy hero for one, who allowed the heroine space to deal with her emotions. I also enjoyed that the author did not make the heroine whiny and needy due to her issues. I thought the love story between them was satisfying for how short the book was.

My issues stemmed from a few details at the beginning of the book that were "off" and left me heavily critiquing the rest of the story. Though not a 'deal-breaker' to the rest of the story, they were enough to set the tone for me that the writing felt sloppy and unresearched. Perhaps it was just an oversight, but it is my hope that these things were addressed in the ARC copy and adjusted before its actual release. Again, not a deal-breaker but not what I would have expected from this writer. (Kaylea Cross writing as Callie Croix)

As far as quick, steamy love stories go-- I would give it 4 stars but the lack of attention to some details annoyed me enough to drop it down to 3 stars.

Let Me In by Callie Croix is a steamy, titillating erotic romance that leaves your blood boiling with so much heat that you want more. This novella, while short, has the fillings for complete spice and engages you from page one, all the way to the end. The characters are believable, the drama adding just enough, and the chemistry off the charts.

I truly enjoyed Liam and Talia’s characters and found myself subtly falling in love with the leads as Ms. Croix wrote out their story. While it read fast – which isn’t a bad thing – I found myself wanting so much more once it was over. It wraps up nicely and gives the reader a sense of right at the end, a smile that stays for hours.

I’ve just added a new favorite author to my list and can’t wait to see what else Ms. Croix publishes. Well done. Five out of five stars.

Synopsis: On leave for Thanksgiving, the last thing marine lieutenant Talia Barnett expects to find is Liam Brodie waiting for her at the airport. He's had a starring role in her fantasies for the past two years, and although she'd love to make them a reality, she has a dark secret that prevents her from taking things further.

A former marine, Liam's specialty is planning tactical operations, and that's just what he plans to do to win Talia. The woman has kept him at arm's length for too long, and this time he's finally going to claim her—body and heart.

What begins as comfort quickly turns hot. When Liam shows Talia a hint of the dominant nature inside him, the submissive part of her flares to life. Though she desires him, she's going back on deployment and doesn't want to dump all her drama on him. Will he find a way to break through the protective walls around her heart and convince her they have a future that goes far beyond the bedroom?

Tia and Alex have known each other since they were kids. Alex is Tia's brother's best friend - and until now Tia has always been of limits, married, but she's at the end of her divorce with her abusive-ex.

Alex has wanted Tia as long as he can remember and when he comes home from Afghanistan with an injury he finds his feelings for Tia haven't lessened, they grown, and the first encouragement she gives him to move on her, he does.

But not all is peaceful, Tia's ex is harassing her and she's weight down by the things he's said, feeling ashamed and vulnerable and far from sexy, she's not sure at all that she can be what Alex wants.

This is what Erotic Romance is supposed to be like, emotional, filled with tension sexual and non-sexual, I loved the feeling of threat that gave the story depth, I loved how Tia was broken and how much Alex was healing her just by showing her she could be wanted again, beautiful again. Domestic abuse is something I like seeing brought out in books, it's so important for women to know you can get out of that life and have a new one and feel the right kind of love and appresiation again - and I loved Touch Me for that!

I liked this a lot! Touch Me had the perfect balance of love, sex, tension and gentleness - a mix to get any girls heart racing! Tia I loved she was so unsure, but determined, she'd been through so much and was still full of kindness, some of it still for her ex who'd come home with Traumatic Brain Injury from the army and wasn't fully to blame for his actions. Alex was so wonderfully normal, even if he was an alpha and liked controlling his women in the bedroom, he was kind, he loved Tia and he didn't let her freak out and escape him when things got rough. Now, who could resist that?! Alex made a great hero for Tia and for the story!

I liked the cover, though Tia in it comes over more confident and naughtier than she does in the book, bit of a mix there, but still a great cover, I like the simplicity, the font and the color sexy but subtle!

I absolutely loved the first in the series by Callie Croix called Deacon's Touch so I was excited to read the 3rd installment by the same author. The story doesn't leave off where the second one ended rather it is happening at the same time. Basically you get to hear the story happen from the point of view of two other characters. I love the idea of this series where its not the same author writing each installment but you hear about a different Dumen brother in each book.

Dillon's Claim is about Dillon Dumen and Charissa Myers. You know they have a relationship that either ended wrong or never got off the ground. Dillon still has feelings for Charissa. Charissa is scared to show her feelings towards Dillon. A bad breakup has left her afraid to let herself go mentally and sexually. She knows that sex with Dillon will change her forever and feel things she hasn't felt before.

The novella is quite short but you get a clear image of the characters. Dillon is rough around the edges but adores Charissa. Charissa needs to trust herself and her instincts. The chemistry between these two pops right off the page it is so palpable. I would love for a cowboy to love me and dominate me in bed the way Dillon does to Charissa. I loved this book just as much as I loved Deacon's Touch and I will continue to follow this author. This is a must read for those who love erotica that are more than just sex all the time. It has a great background story that lends well to the erotic sexual scenes.

As a reader one of my favorite theses is that of strong alpha cowboys. Callie Croix nailed the ultimate bad boy cowboy with her hero Deke Dumen. As a forced into retirement pararescueman Deke is everything I love about cowboys: quiet, strong, intelligent and hot. Jessica is a strong independent woman who loves her job which leaves her no room for a man. Neither one is looking for a partner or for love which makes their connection that much sweeter!

I really enjoyed how the relationship between Jessica and Deke evolved. Sometimes with erotica the storyline is not well developed but with Deacon's Touch the relationship is very natural andd believable. They aren't just falling into bed together after five minutes of meeting. I prefer to read erotica that is more true to life than something that is too far fetched. The sex scenes between Deke and Jessica were very sensual while pushing the boundaries. Their lovemaking does deal with slight bondage as well as a dominant/submissive theme.

As the first book of the series Croix does an excellent job at setting up the characters for the subsequent books. All the characters are at the dude ranch as a getaway for a couple that is getting married. I read this book vey quickly because I was so anxious to see the outcome of Deke and jessica's relationship. I wanted to know if they would open their hearts to love. I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in the series. Croix's characters are endearing and true to life.
