Something I love about Katie's books is that they begin with action, and the action never stops. Her latest story is no exception.

In a fun take on Greek mythology, Paige Lindsey is in hiding and on the run since she can wield magic, and Zeus has absolutely forbidden magic since he and the gods left the world. Make that even more fun by adding a town statue with a handsome man and a rumor that a young woman will one day bring him to life and you have a love story waiting to happen.

Fighting against the gods can take on many forms, and what Paige learns goes beyond physical alterations as she must look inside herself and trust what others have always seen in her. And maybe with the help of some friends, she can be exactly what the world needs. Katie says her books are meant to draw us into the story, finding ourselves in the pages. This story left me wondering if maybe we all have more magic than we know.

I received a free ARC from the author and have reviewed it willingly. It also made me realize my overwhelming need to befriend a jackalope. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good magical adventure.

A dragon short-I love it! It gave me a paranormal fix instantly! It started a wee bit slow, but I think as a reader I needed that--it was a balance in a way. Once the story takes off it really zooms. I read the preview at the back and I definitely need me some more dragons!

Loved the wings!

Myra is planning her wedding when in a strange twist of fate another dragonkin appears and tells her about something peculiar that has just been discovered. There is a newly discovered clan of dragons living on an invisible-to-humans, magically-protected island of Hawaii. When she arrives, she learns that not only do they want to reveal themselves to humans, they also want her to become queen of the dragons...by marrying their king. That is obviously not going to happen, since she has been in love with Rhys since the beginning of this saga, and after what happened in book 2, she is unwilling to let anything separate them. The other choice she is given is to become queen without the king, which means undergoing a series of trials much like in the previous book, but this time unique to the island and its volcano. More lives than hers are at stake. Can she succeed and save the dragons?

With even more twists than the previous books, including a few surprises you won't see coming, Katie Cherry never ceases to surprise with her imagination and integration of dragons and humans in ways I've never seen before. I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future.
