Critiques

A collection of technical essays on the problem of defining the boundaries of objects without sharp boundaries for the purposes of making maps. I picked it up as a practical example of a linguistic issue. "Conceptual boundaries" sounds like a very abstract academic issue but if you want to make a map it becomes very concrete, you need to agree where objects begin and end and it isn't always obvious. And that is before you bring in the issue of cultural differences.
