Owning an antique mirror shop brings in many different buyers. The buyers are usually looking for something special for their home, but Rhona seems to be extra special to Luke and seems to need more attention.

Luke definitely has no problem giving her extra attention even though he and Eva have happily been together for years. Rhona seems to become an obsession for Luke.

Luke tries to find every opportunity to see Rhona, and he day dreams about their meetings and re-lives them.

Rhona's husband, Alden, and Eva's Client, Agnes, have a link to both Luke and Eva because Agnes had an affair with Alden and at one of her therapy session reveals some information that shocks Eva because it can't be true can it?

We follow Luke through his days as he becomes more obsessed with Rhona and more distant with Eva. When the connection of Alden and Rhona now affects Luke and Eva, the story line takes another turn.

I did not like Rhona at all - she was manipulative and only cared about herself. Luke was naive about the situation and needed to think straight. Alden was a bit flighty and seemed like a fake. Agnes was a help to Eva. Eva was sweet.

The characters were very well developed, and their feelings seemed to pop out of the pages helping you add yourself into the situation and fit in perfectly.

Mr. Bundock does a marvelous job with his descriptions and details of every event.

The story line moves along quickly and holds your interest as new twists and facts turn up along with different story lines that add new characters.

I enjoyed this book because of the characters and the bit of mystery.

The characters were intriguing, seemed real, and made decisions that may have been made by people that are not characters in a book.

The ending was not what I had expected, but was surprising and good. The entire book was an enjoyable read.

The story opens with Luke in a jail cell mumbling “I am a murderer. I have murdered a man.” Oh, the things a man will do for love.

Luke is a mirror dealer who lives a somewhat mundane life in the English countryside. He is content in his relationship with Eva, a psychotherapist. They have their set ways of doing things. They live separately but have a routine for which nights are spent in her house and which in his. A pretty typical couple in every way. Until Luke meets Rhona…

Poor Luke – he did not stand a chance against the seductive power of Rhona. The proverbial mid-life crisis hit him square in the face. All along I could see her for the vamp she was, but how much of what she told Luke was real? I was never quite sure. Was her husband Alden the brute she portrayed him to be? Luke became a marionette under her spell.

After reading so many fast-paced thrillers, it was refreshing to read a book that slowly meandered its way along, never boring me, continually enticing me, teasing me with what is to come. The characters were so well written they seemed to come alive, to step off the page of the book into my life.

For a while I was so sure I knew what the outcome would be but was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Kudos to Mr. Bundock for his ability to delude me and still be pleased with the outcome.… (plus d'informations)
