He took some photos in Japan. The quality of the black & white photos is stunning. I wish more from Japan had been included.

Large 8vo. East-West at Toppan Press. 1949. Unpaginated. 100 full page photo illustrations of Bali, all with short explanatory text. Bound in native pattern theme boards with paper title label present to the front board. Boards in VG shape with light wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. A remarkable camera/text study of life in Bali after World War II. Horace Bristol (November 16, 1908– August 4, 1997) was a twentieth-century American photographer, best known for his work in Life. His photos appeared in Time, Fortune, Sunset, and National Geographic magazines. Following his documentation of World War II, Bristol settled in Tokyo, Japan, selling his photographs to magazines in Europe and the United States, and becoming the Asian correspondent to Fortune.… (plus d'informations)
