Rumors are ugly and after having her reputation destroyed by it in San Francisco, Lark fled home to the security of her family, only to almost succumb to the darkness of small town pettiness and "acts of revenge/maliciousness".
I enjoyed the quirky and colourful characters that Lark meets and befriend along the way (Duff, Cricket and Ophelia are very interesting). Lark is quite the character herself, you can see her trying to rise above and grow into a better person, finally letting go of the strict and professional image that she has kept up for over 20 years and become the creative and carefree person she was meant to be.
