- Lady Anne Isabella (née King-Noel), 15th Baroness Wentworth in her own right, was a granddaughter of Lord Byron and Annabella Milbanke, and a daughter of Ada Lovelace, through whom she inherited her title. She was fluent in French, German, Italian, Spanish and later Arabic, as well as a skilled violinist, artist, and equestrienne. In 1869, she married the poet Wilfrid Scawen Blunt, who shared her interest in horses. The couple wanted to help save the Arabian horse as a breed and Lady Anne became the first European woman to make a recorded journey to central Arabia, where she bought Arabian horses for the couple's breeding farm, the Crabbet Park Arabian Stud. After separating from her husband in 1906, she spent most of the winter months of each year at her estate in Egypt, Sheykh Obeyd. Her published journals describe her many travels. Most modern Arabian horses are descended from Crabbet Park stock.
