Critiques

Black Sabbath's second album, featuring "Iron Man."

3/4 (Good).

I mean, it's not good. It's really bad by any objective standard. But it's iconic in a fun way, and it's enjoyably silly.

BLACK SABBATH

East Rutherford, NJ

Continental Airlines Arena

1999-02-05 (february 5th)

*soundcheck*

Bonus: Uniondale, NY - Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum 1999-02-06

source: audience recording

length: 22.12 7.23

Listenable audience recording of an interesting soundcheck. All in one track since it?s no full songs. As a bonus I added the short recording of the 990206 soundcheck in Uniondale.

1. Junior?s eyes / Supernaut / Planet caravan / Symptom of the universe / Sabbath bloody sabbath / Heaven & hell / Sabbra cadabra / Zero the hero

Bonus:

2. The shining / The mob rules / Disturbing the priest / Headless cross

ENJOY!!

AUD matrix

Posted with permission from both rbose1 (http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=408775) and Barghest (http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=408991), and by request of jkennedy, danlynch, qhwest, kagee1, madman420 and everyone at nyctapers.

Both of these were nice recordings with minor issues related to recording in a giant open space with variable wind patterns and an insane crowd, which I was not brave enough to attempt.

Is this matrix the perfect recording? No. But it is heavy as balls. Thanks rbose1 and Barghest and enjoy!

Source 1 (rbose1): Sound Professionals SP-CMC-8 Microphones

Sound Professionals SP-SPSB-11 Mini Battery Module with Bass Roll-Off (69Hz)

Edirol R-09HR 44.1kHz / 16 bit

USB>PC>CD Wave Editor>Trader's Little Helper>FLAC level 8>Dime

Source 2 (Barghest): Equipment: SP-CMC-8 with windscreens -> Edirol R-09HR -> WAV [originally in 96 kHz/24 bit->downgraded to 44kHZ/16 bit]

Lineage: WAV -> Adobe Audition (Normalize-Track Splitting) -> FLAC

Notes from Barghest:

***That's a different source from the one posted by rbose1 (cheers and thanks a lot for the effort!)

***The rbose1 recording is currently found here http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=408838

***Although we used almost identical equipment, the result is quite different, as:

***1) I was positioned ~30 m from the stage right at the dividing barrier in the centre & rbose1 was ~50m behind me.

***2) I was using windscreens

***3) I wasn't using bass roll-off battery device, that's why my variant sounds a lot bassier.

A different scale show to the recent warm-up in the intimate 3,000 capacity O2 Academy in

Birmingham - 3 weeks later playing to 70,000 in a field in Derbyshire! Ozzy may be a

little ambitious at his age straining his voice with his Ozzy Friends sets rather than

just concentrating on these (few) special Sabbath shows - he sounds considerably worse

here but it was still an entertaining show

Please do not sell this recording but share freely and enjoy it!

Any comments are welcome.
