I had high hopes for this book, but was pretty disappointed. The concept is one that I love.....survival after a disaster and one man and his family fighting to make it through. Unfortunately the author never developed the characters as well as he could have. The character's actions and interactions were saccharine. Disappointing.

This was a quick and interesting read. The story was a little simplistic but would likely be perfect for 10-15 year old crowd. Being a radio amateur myself the ham radio tie in was of interest to me. There were some good tips on radio operations in time of a disaster. The author included a glossary with linked notes in the text which was a neat idea.
