I felt Dickinson was great, Pinsker good and Davis goodish. The rest i did not like and many felt like ordinary scifi from the 30s-40s. Military, though? Not really, maybe less than 20%.

Hmm. Odd story about a bunch of kids, one of whom is obsessed with Davy Crockett. The kids have an encounter with the occupants of a flying saucer. It might resonate more with me if I had the background knowledge of an American, but the story just felt odd and out of place in the Parallel Worlds anthology. Not bad, just odd.

Noteworthy for Claudine Griggs's "Helping Hand," reprinted from Lightspeed Magazine. This beautifully compact gem has since been turned into a segment on Netflix's Love Death + Robots, in Season 1 Episode 11.

Several good stories, Weber's intro excels but most run of the mill.
