The book alternates between Shay and Jonah's POV which I really liked, it's not always that you can see book sides of a developing romance. I really liked both characters, Shay is a hardcore animal lover who would do anything to save a animal, Jonah is a Deputy who is trying to run for Sheriff who also seems to constantly get caught up in Shay's troubled. He even nicknamed her trouble which is really fitting. You can definitely feel the sexual tension leaping off the pages when Jonah and Shay come together and I rooted for them to get together.

The one thing I did not expect was the roller coaster of emotions I felt. I was sad when Shay describes how it feels to find one of her Fosters a home, you also feel happy because hello a furball just got a forever home. Anger was also a common emotion because dammit there were such bullies in this book and it was so frustrating that they didn't get what they deserve (well one of them kinda did). Shay was way too nice in this aspect, and while I know she did it to be the bigger person I feel like it didn't get her anywhere. This book also had a heaping of smut (which I actually don't read too much of in my books surprisingly) and it wasn't awkward or anything.

I do recommend this book as it's a quick read ( I read it in a couple of hours) and it just sort of lets your mind be at ease. If you are reading or just read a complex lengthy book and need a lighthearted book then this is your pal.

Parts of this were quite good, but I wasn't engaged all the way through. There is some good Autism rep in the characters of the father and brother. What is with chickens in stories I have read lately? Overall, I ended up enjoying it.

Situationship is a second chance romance between two divorced single parents who were each other's first loves. It is twenty years later, and Colin and Teagan are living next to each other on the beach where they spent so much time together as teenagers. Teagan is also dealing with her younger sister. They have an interesting backstory as well.

I love second chance stories and this one was truly enjoyable. I also appreciated the side story about Teagan and her sister Harley and wasn't bothered by the departure from the romance to tell the sisters' story. I liked that this book is written from three perspectives - Teagan, Colin, and Harley. Each voice was fresh and believable. While I found some parts of the book predictable, I didn't mind because the writing was fun to read and the story just made me smile.

My sincere thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book and give my unbiased opinion of it.

Situationship by Marina Adair
Contemporary romance. Second chance troupe. Family centric.
Teagan moves into her inherited family home with her four-year old twins. She hopes to reopen a bread bakery business after her ex husband gambled everything away. Teagan finds her sister already living in the house and her first love still living next door. Being a single mother to twins toddlers takes organizational effort. Teagan is grateful to the helping hand her squatter sister lends as well as the comfort she gets from spending time with Colin. Maybe the family move will be better than expected.

Adorable little girls, a hunky considerate man with a bratty confused teenage plus a well meaning sister makes this a family affair to the nth degree. Conflicts, arguments, misunderstandings and differences in being raised have all of them slowly learning about another perspective. I especially loved Harley’s determination to help her sister even though she gets beaten down verbally by Teagan over and over. All of them, the entire cast, have to grow emotionally and they do as the story progresses.
It’s family. Emotional, heartbreaking and loving with happy tears more than once for me near the end. Perfectly syrupy.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.
