I saw this news yesterday. Very sad indeed. I thought of all the wonderful authors I discovered because of her, and then of the many friendships we've formed in this group, and realised what a huge amount of gratitude I owe her.

Her obituary was in the Globe, the daily newspaper in Boston Massachusetts. It was a lovely tribute.

Thank you for the list anbolyn! I have a copy of her book with Colm Toibin - The Modern Library - in which they each recommend their favorite books of all time. I liked and disliked their choices but I read nearly all of them.
