- A propos de ma bibliothèque
- Eclectic! I read a wide variety of books, from novels to non-fiction, and always have strong opinion about what I've read. One can appreciate Herman Melville one night and enjoy a trashy romance novel the next - I see no obvious contradiction.
- A propos de moi
- Profile under construction! So many books, so much distraction! Ah yes, and because of a flub on my part, most of my books are incorrectly categorized. I hope to have that straightened out... eventually.
The name's Marie, and I an a young lawyer currently living in San Jose, California. I have a BS in Honors English Literature and a strong background in the medical sciences, particularly chemistry and laboratory techniques.
My reading style, like my collection itself, leans towards the eclectic. I have "moods" with my reading - first a few weeks of biographies, then I might be in the mood for classical fiction, then perhaps even a jaunt into my absolute favorites, the Jane Austen continuations and sequels. I especially love reading terrible popular books so I can ruthlessly mock them.
I wrote my 100+ page collegiate senior thesis on Pride and Prejudice adaptions, and admit to something of a addiction. Both good and bad, I try to read them all just as fast as they come out.
I also have a noted fondness for specific-histories, with a particular interest in the histories of specific food products. But really, there's nothing I will refuse to read - even fantasy and romance pique my interest once in a while. I especially love recommendations!
So far I have received the following Early Reviewer books:
(14) "Superman" by Larry Tye (May 2012)
(13) "The Lost Scrolls" by Michael J. Scott (March 2012)
(12) "The Canterbury Tales" by Seymore Chwast (November 2011)
(11) "Supergods" by Grant Morrison (May 2011)
(10) "The Meowmorphosis" by Franz Kafka and Cook Coleridge (April 2011)

(8) "The Anatomy of Ghosts" by Andrew Taylor (November 2010)
(7) "The Complete Start-to-Finish MBA Admissions Guide" by Jeremy Shinewald (September 2010)
(6) "Murder at Mansfield Park" by Lynn Shepherd (June 2010)
(5) "Time Among the Dead" by Thomas Rayfiel (March 2010)
