I read Witch Switch by Louisa Bacio in this anthology.
This book was intriguing. Love, mystery, revenge…toss in hidden powers, unknown siblings and losing yourself and having to refind yourself, you have the makings of a good tale. This is a novella but the author didn’t quite leave us hanging. It is the start of a series. HOORAY! I can’t wait to read more. This was like a bad fairytale that you can root for good to win. Rafe, Cheyenne, and Jupiter can kick butt with the best of them. I loved the fact that Cheyenne and Jupiter are strong and can basically do things on their own (together-sister power), there’s another sister later in the story. The characters have strong personalities. Meredith may have evil powers yet she’s pretty much a spoiled brat not getting her way. The plot had a really good flow. The story wasn’t choppy. My favorite part was the scene in the forest. The whole tone of the story kept you on the edge of your seat. It’s a very romantic tale with some spice scattered throughout so there’s a little of everything for everyone (if you love romance). I think you need to buy this book and check it out. It’s a new favorite for me.… (plus d'informations)

„Veil’s Fall“ by Taylor White is the sixth and final installment in the “Alice Skye Series”, and the conclusion Alice has been (sometimes unknowingly) racing to for the very beginning, a wonderful and fully satisfying end to a highly enjoyable series. But I’m going ahead of myself. As everybody already knows in the beginning Alice Skye was Paladin Agent for the SIB (Supernatural Intelligence Bureau), who in the course of her adventures became an independent Paladin agent, working with the so-called Spook Squad, the supernatural squad in the local police department, and in special with Detective Brady, and subsequently has successfully fought Daemons, monsters, rogue wolf shifters, a corrupt Archdruid, some hellhounds and withstood The Council’s tribunal, but none of it could have possible prepare her for this final trial.

Alice has conquered Fate once and again, but this time Fate is out to get her: the Veil is falling, facilitating the random opening of portals all throughout the city, while drained vampire bodies keep turning up…. Alice control is about to break, which could be very, very bad….. The only way to stop the catastrophe is to rewrite fate, the only question being…. Is Alice really up to it?

This is the Alice greatest adventure, the whole fate of the world depends on her, the stakes are high, the danger is considerable, but the rewards are incommensurable. Taylor White’s writing style is – as always – captivating, crisp, and addictive; the story blends plot and character development into a single most coherent narrative string garnished with fast-paced action, dark aesthetics, a very high dose of mystery and dramatic tension, graphic situations, and the right amount of romance and chemistry to highlight the adventure without overshadowing the story.

„Witch’s Sorrow“ marks the start the “Alice Skye Series” by Taylor White, an urban fantasy series featuring Paladin Agent Alice Skye, a brand-new fresh take on classic Urban Fantasy elements and the vampire and shifter myths.

Alice Skye has been just hired to find a missing wolf by the Alpha of the largest Europa pack, Rexley Wild, a contract that takes eagerly, much to eagerly, discarding the consequences. Alice is still a self-taught inexperienced witch, making for her lack of formal training with a no-nonsense approach to matters, and thus, realizes the truth a little too late, because this is not a mere missing wolf case, but a much more complicated issue.

The story is fast-paced with a very strong beginning, full with twists and turns, set in a fresh urban fantasy world, populated with all kinds of paranormal characters, a witty strong protagonist, that keeps evolving through the story, actively adapting to the everchanging situation. It is not only a fresh brand-new take, with only a slightly downside… it eventually ends ☹

„Druid’s Storm“ is the long awaited second installment in the “Alice Skye Series” by Taylor White, an urban fantasy series featuring Paladin Agent Alice Skye.

Alice is back, ready to work and determined to shine light in her abduction and bring the culprit to justice and detaining Breeds by any means necessary, but the truth keeps evading her, and Riley Storm (the one who could bring some insights in the subject) is AWOL. In fact, Riley is trying to keep his distance intended in fulfill his role as a Guardian of Order, until the vampire genocide reach its peak and he is forced back into Alice’s life, who is working with the spook squad on solving the killings. There is, however much more going on that Alice is not fully aware of, and could derail the case for the worse.

Taylor White’s writing is fast paced, action filled with the right amount of drama and chemistry to add romance to the adventure without overshadowing the action. It is not only a fresh brand-new take on classic Urban Fantasy elements, but also highly addictive, thus be aware, or better still …. read all books in a row and them just wait patiently for the next book….😉
