Bestselling author Sadie Bannerman travels incognito to small-town Vermont to lend a hand to her pregnant twin. Sadie isn't looking for a relationship, but wouldn't mind an intense fling with sexy Army Ranger, Logan Reed. Reeling in the aftermath of his wife's death and a mission gone wrong, Logan is all too willing, but will he still be interested when Sadie's real identity is revealed to the world?

Despite the intriguing premise, the romance falls rather flat.

To begin with, the hints at a dominant heroine and compelling BDSM tale are completely misleading (perhaps to be expected as this is a Harlequin) as Sadie's kink is nothing more than some mild dirty talk and a couple of pink ribbons (see the cover).

Despite the strong physical attraction and steamy interactions between the confident Sadie and more reserved Logan, their emotional connection is lacking. He is still hung up on his late wife and concerned about his future in the Rangers. She is preoccupied with her guilt over choosing her career over her family (even though she obviously hasn't), and the angst over the revelation of her erotica pen name is completely overblown.

Regardless of these issues, this is a light, quick and sweet read, and the ending actually makes it all worthwhile.

Getting to know him is only half the battle. Gavin shows what he wants people to see, not the man hie truly is. Whether he's breaking hearts, stirring hormones or falling in love, it's hard to figure him out. Kayla thinks she knows him, but she's in for the surprise of her life. Stone is a master of disguise. Her characters are the best kept secret, until she reveals all in the end. Mr. Misunderstood is a perfect slight of hand as cryptic as it is unforgettable.

When I was presented with the opportunity to read the first book in the Sin City Seals series: To Tempt a Seal was the first time Natalie was introduced. To Tempt a Seal was her sister Lucia's and Natalie's best friend Cade's moving story. She was the protective older sister who unwittingly played matchmaker. In To Dare a Seal Natalie gets her own story. Natalie uses her touch girl persona as a shield. She feels deeply and struggles with guilt for not being able to protect her baby sister from the evil that she faced at an early age. Pain for how she lost her parents when she needed them most. Anger for the things in her life she has had no control over and irritation for the one person who will not let her wallow in self-pity. I liked Jack. Beneath the gruff and overtly sexual exterior he was a really sensitive guy. Natalie was his dream girl that he wanted for his reality. Sara Jane Stone has done a really good job with this series. I received an ARC of To Dare a Seal in exchange for an honest review. To Dare a Seal is heartbreaking, irresistible and sexy. I enjoyed every minute of this story.… (plus d'informations)
