I love this book.

300+ pages about the history of quilting in the USA. Contains lots of personal stories and anecdotes, all well-referenced, great photos. It is very well written, but very easy to read. The book is also very well set out - each page is well set out.

This book is a best categorised as social history and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone interested in the history of quilts in the USA.

I bought this book for its 200+ color photos, including many of vintage quilts. The narrative is long on anecdote (fine, I guess, if you like that sort of thing) and short on any attempt at serious scholarship.
