“When their friend Keith dies, little do Owen and Steve know their suspicions of foul play will lead them deep into a maze of illusions, secrets, and desires, that the search for truth will take them beyond the outer world and into a haunting inner world—behind the surface of reality, beyond what be can seen and heard, deep inside nightmares and dreams, within delusions and visions, past the veneer of an illusory world and into a valley of darkness.”

The story is short but interesting and spooky, wasnt a fan of the writing style of this book cause it took me out a few times but still it didn’t ruin the experience and I still enjoyed the book.

Sacred Witchery is the haunting story of 2 friends coming to terms with the death of their best friend, Keith. Each man finds himself in some mundane stage of life, searching for something to complete themself. After the death of their friend, they come together in an attempt to rationalize the death of Keith only to find that they are each experiencing events that can only be described as supernatural.
I throughly enjoyed the plot of this book. You get multiple different POVs which assist in the understanding of the story. Each chapter leaves you uneasy and confused which is exactly how the characters feel and it becomes more clear as time goes on. That being said I found the writing style to be choppy and it did not flow well. It took me out of the story a couple times. The story line is amazing, just hard to lose yourself in on occasion.

I appreciate receiving this story via Early Reviewers. Short and spooky. I don't entirely enjoy the blurring of reality and dream worlds, but that's just my taste. Those scenes weren't interesting to me. However, peppered throughout are some very cool and descriptive paragraphs of gnarly acts. I loved those scenes and they kept me going. The characters are good. The ending was OK. If you consider yourself a horror fan, this one is probably worth reading. People who don't enjoy horror might like it, as well. Not overly gross or violent.

Three friends are haunted by a dream of a woman. They don't remember who she is, but she remembers them.

A short book, but it was a very interesting story. I liked how a woman always gets revenge but felt sorry for some of the characters. The ending was a bit of a shocker.

This book was so bad I’m not even sure how to review it. Vultures is about a family who a sociopath decides to destroy just because he can.

What could have been a very good premise, was destroyed by the authors inability to actually write. I felt like I was reading a book that was written via a computer program, and the author just added the names and places as well as a few religious rantings. The book was disjointed, especially at the beginning of the book. By the time the plot started to make sense, I was past the point of caring about this family and the evil that was destroying their lives.

I didn’t like one character in this book. There were no spine tingling or fearful moments. The whole time I was reading it, I was just wishing it was over. If I hadn’t agreed to do a review on the book, I would have stopped at chapter 2.

Thanks to Library Thing and Grant Palmquist for the opportunity to review this 2 star book.

This futuristic story is very fast paced and kept me interested from cover to cover. Asher is just a regular guy who just happens to have lost his wife and son and only has his job to look forward to each day. His wife and son died trying to escape the city where their lives were dictated by a strict government that does not want anyone to disobey. When Asher loses his job and finds that the government is searching his apartment when he is not home, he goes off the grid and learns a lot about its underground society.

Strange Attraction is a down to earth, paranormal tale about a man who is painfully shy when it comes to meeting women. Good story.

This novella begins with Bobby Page watching his mother be swallowed by a sinkhole. That's right - giant, alien insects have invaded Kinsale, Texas leaving two boys to fend for themselves. We follow Bobby and his brother Ralph in their struggle to survive.

Without spoiling such a short story, I will say that I think Sinkhole was very well done. I mean, these monsters stressed Bobby out so bad that he was lighting up cigarettes back to back. For 70 pages this tale contained all the elements of a well-structured and well-detailed story. I enjoyed it.

A very well written short horror story with a good storyline and a realistic main character. The book draws the reader in and keeps your interest. Quite a good short read that I would recommend to readers of horror stories. Great for a lunch hour thrill or a bedtime nightmare.

A very well written horror story of a young student who is befriended by a fellow student. The young man so much wants a best friend that he is forced to deal with a new friend that is pure evil. The story flows well and keeps the reader interested. The ending was unexpected, but good. I would highly recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good horror story. I wil read other stories by this author.

This is a book about a sick group of teenagers nearing graduation who have zero parental guidance, engage in pass around sex, illicit drug use, and with vicious cruelty, bully less attractive peers. The author did a great job with Mick Morris and Kitty Martine - they are definitely characters that you love to hate - and he also threw in a little paranormal activity. This was good writing.

Overall a good read, though it takes a while to get going. The writing was solid but the pacing could have been better. Enjoyable read and I will have to check out what other things the author has written.

I received this eBook in a LibraryThing giveaway

Very well written dark novella for adult horror fans only. Contains masterful storytelling with twists and turns. The story contains sex, murder, and plenty of action. Would recommend this book only for mature horror fans.

This dude Ray is a lonely, single father with paranormal girlfriends. His son pushes him to date but Ray is unlucky with women. His son thinks he's loco (best part of the book) until he has his own experience with his father's ghosts.

This author is a good writer and I usually enjoy his books and will read more of his writing, but this story was so-so.

Good suspense story about a man dealing with loneliness and loss. Even as a short novel it takes a little while to get going but it is worth a read.

A very creepy and entertaining horror novel. What's most captivating about it is the relationship between the two villains. We get to see Sal grooming a teenager for his nefarious purposes. Also, good writing makes you look at an object or a setting that we see everyday in a new way. Well after reading this I'm not sure I will see a candy store the same way. A great horror read that for all its darkness has quite a bit of light.

This story had a very slow start. The plot was good, but there was no excitement, no intense drama. The hero was too young to be the main character. The story fell flat for me because of the hero's age. Put an older character into this story and it might work better.

This book grabs you from the first word and pulls you in. The story starts out as bullying. But then turns demonic. I loved the twists. The characters were believable and strong. The story was enthralling. I had to read on to see what happened. I literally couldn't put it down. The story was a fascinating psychological insight into bullying at a major level and then into the demonic and how it can also turn. Well worth the read.

A+ on originality. I read this book twice and still don't know what to think of it. It's composed of eight horror stories dealing with futuristic dystopias, descends into madness, violence, demons, freedom gone, love and loss. Cemeteries of the heart, Lullaby, Burn Victims, and Stanley were my favorites. I wasn't sure where the author was going with the other four tales, they didn't catch me. Some ending needed structure, less use of the word "and", more descriptive text and less repetition. Still interesting.

A good collection of well developed original short stories. There are plenty of twists and turns in the stories. As in all collections, some stories are better than others. The ending of some stories are left to your imagination. I would recommend this book to all adult readers.
