What I liked best about this book was the self reflection Bryant does - he has this magical power that has been used to fight against the bad guys but he starts considering what makes someone a bad character and how can the magical world be governed in a way that will reduce the number of battles and bring peace to the world. There are plenty of battles in this book as our foursome hunt down the missing library - but there's also a light at the end of the tunnel for our heros.

Bryant and company have the seemingly impossible task of trying to track down the missing library while keeping it quiet that the defacto rulers of magical New York are gone. Getting involved in a corrupt auctioneer of magical children gives them a lead while also involving them in multiple confrontations (including one to rescue Elizabeth from a locked boarding school for "troubled kids").

Bryant is coping with the aftermath of his first magical adventure. His parents aren't really on board with his changing circumstances, he's being hunted, and his mentor is determined to gain access to the magical library guarded by the Ladies. Oh, and his best friend and girlfriend are also trying to make the adjustment to being part of the magical world. Good adventures to be had by all!

Bryant is a typical geeky kid with problems but they all get amped up when he discovers a cell phone that does magic. Chaos ensues as he (with the help of friends) figures out how to control the magic and keep it out of the hands of bad guys. Quirky and fun.
