I love Lev so so much and his fierce protection over what is his is beautiful. This book takes us on a journey through mafia life, fighting to survive, and loving when things get rough. Katy’s was an awesome mother, fierce protector over her family, strong, and loving she has been through so much but fought her way out of adversity and loved with all she had. This duet is a fun, intense, and hot as hell I loved it so much and both these authors know how to write suspense and steam. I hope they wrote more together.

Wow this was a crazy ride but a good one. The moment we are introduced to Lev he is an extremely intense individual who actually helps Kat in a time of need while at a club. Kat is out with a friend d and ends up taking something that she shouldn’t have and she was being taken care of by an intense broody guy but he was caring. These two have an automatic attraction, but because of the life Lev is in he knows he should stay far away from Kat because she exudes purity and he doesn’t want to drag her down. The only thing is Lev feels pulled to her and just had to go back and see her again, they have a night of steamy magic then Lev walks away. A lot of things happen and I don’t want to give too much away but after a few years Lev comes back to find Kat and she has the all new life but he is determined now more than ever to protect her and make her his. This does end of a cliffhanger and I’m dying to know what happens next.

I want to make this clear, I do not like leaving poor reviews. However, this book is just one big story about a masquerade party. With little increments here and there of a different person perspective. I found it tedious. I wanted to connect with the author's, but it was extremely hard to do so when all they keep talking about is this masquerade ball. It was like masquerade, masquerade, masquerade , sex. Honestly this is not appropriate behaviour for a 16 year old's birthday party, but I can look past that. Who knows, maybe her parents are freaks. I wanted to read this book because two of my favourite authors are included in this book. And their stories are further on inside the book. On my tablet it shows it to be over 600 pages long. I'm sorry but I do not want to read 600 pages of a masquerade ball. We get it. It's an overly sexualized teenage girls birthday party. And it's disgusting. There's only so much you can do and get away with at a 16 year old girl's birthday party. I feel horrible writing this. But honestly, I wish that they had just touch base on this party... And then moved on to something else. Maybe they met up at the party and then left. Unfortunately I've read three stories into it and so far they're all the same. The first story was confusing, because it implied that the girl attended Columbia and yet they start making NYU references. So that confused me right off the bat. that almost threw me off the book completely but I decided to give it another chance. And it's still lost me with the Morgan situation. Because honestly I thought Morgan was a guy. Yes in a dress, but hey it happens. For now I am going to skip ahead, read the two authors that I wanted to read in the first place, and then leave the book alone. I tried to recommend it to my sister-in-law but even she agrees with me. Something not right about this book. I commend all the authors that got together for this book, but at the same time I think a little variety would have been a lot better.

What a brilliant end. The suspense kept me to the edge. Never wouldve guessed until the mid-end of the book. The motives, the story, the plot, the characters, each of them fighting their own personal battles and coming out as winners. I love how the author has put her heart into each of one them. This isn't one of those "only focus on the main ones" while the side characters blurr out stories. This is a complete package. Brilliant is the word.

I mean, this guy, with an 11 year old daughter, traffics girls into slavery and the sulk-fest never seems to end. Does he deserve a HEA? I've been reeling in emotions (mostly anger) since the past 8 hours. No. Just no.

Loving this series. The anti-hero is definitely growing on me. This is one of those rare stories where the character development really shines through.

Gabriela, my friends, is THE most dumb woman to walk on this earth. It was almost painful at a point to read how she messed up everything.

Am I willing to forgive Santi? Nope.

I'll come back to this review once I've read the finale. Dude? The girl just attempted suicide ? How shitty do you have to be?

3 stars

Repetitive.
Super Slow Pace.
Think of a snail running.
Yep. That Slow.

The sex scenes were awesome. Super steamy. Best part of the whole thing.

Sorry, but after reading the last book in this duet, I have to bring my rating down just a bit. That will also cause it to go to 3 stars instead of 4.

I'm a little disappointed. I expected things to move faster and more time to pass.
I love Damian & I like Cristina.
There is a lot of Mystery, Crime & Intrigue.

It is interesting but the steam is virtually non-existent. Very little in that area happens.
Slow paced & repetitive in a few areas. This read more like a very long 'Introduction' to the characters etc.

I am going to read the 2nd book, Unholy Intent. There is a lot that seems to be going on and I want to know the answers to my questions.

Freaking awesome prelude to a duet.
Intriguing and well written.

Had to think about it.
I liked it, but didn't love it.
Too many unanswered questions.

3 Stars At Most.

It was 'Okay'
Not really all that dark. A bit twisted would be more accurate.
The adult sex scenes were steamy but I would not consider them 'Erotic'.
The unusual elements added to this one didn't ever get fully fleshed out.
And there are still a lot of things from the 'Original' Duet that did not get answered but WERE brought up in this story.

Overall, I'm a bit disappointed. The pacing was slow. Too much about nothing.

This one didn't work for me. The spankings were not really organic to the story IMO. He was kidnapping her and spanking her because she wasn't obeying him. The spanking thing really only works for me if the spankee has more or less given some consent to the discipline for example in a historical marriage or a modern marriage where DD was on the table from the get go. Getting kidnapped and getting beat for trying to escape doesn't fit that scenario for me. He was too domineering with not valid reason for me. The were wolf world was also not as well developed as I typically prefer also.

I guess this was okay. I don't mind a bit of spanking in my books. I knew this was a DD book going in so obviously I choose to read it. But I felt like this was a bit too much of a primer on the lifestyle instead of having the DD be more organic to the story. The situation that the heroine got into was a least more plot than can sometimes be in this sort of story but the heroine seemed like a ninny really. The DD stuff seemed like I said a bit too clinical and very rushed. I would think that you would really need to trust someone to accept this lifestyle. I know they knew each other before but that was ten years ago and she was a teenager so meeting again and immediately jumping into this just felt rushed.

Wow

If this is a precursor to what the rest of the book/duet is going to be like then sign me up. It was filled with tension, suspense, and mystery with dark undertones. I cannot wait to see where this story goes.
