Lantana Island Romantic Comedy Series by Talia Hunter

The heat is on. Sparks fly, hearts break and emotions get way out of control, but Hunter and her battle weary couples, never miss the chance to put a smile on this readers face. Hearts beware, temptation is only a page turn away.

Forget stereotypes, ignore ego and activate your sense of humor. Talia Hunter targets the heart with witty dialogue, irresistible characters and enjoyable storytelling. Rich List appeals to that hint of naughty with a dash of sweet and an abundance of fun. Not to be missed.

I really liked Caylee, she's smart and confident in her professional abilities, but not the most socially adept person."For all her book smarts, she could be dumb when it came to people." She has known Blake for a long time since they grew up next to each other, they even shared a night together in high school right before Blake left. Blake came from a troubled home and doesn't believe relationships can really work because of the way his parents always argued. Caylee was the main source of comfort in his life growing up. After their night together many years ago they've thought about each other often.

I liked the character development in this book. Caylee starts to gain more confidence in herself as a woman and I think Blake had a lot to do with that. Blake also grows from the beginning, finally letting go of some of the baggage that he'd been carrying with him for years, with Caylee's help. Their meeting again finally helps the both of them move on from their past.

The romance was good and it was a quick, light read. I really liked that this is a story about two people being reunited after being separated. Both of the main characters were really likeable, and I think the only reason I didn't enjoy this book more was because the conflicts felt minor and I thought that there should have been a little more depth to them. Other than that, I thought it was a good read.

Overall a good story but at times more details and greater development of the story would have made it better. Blake and Caylee are great characters and their unexpected reunion is intriguing but the fact that they refuse to deal with the past takes away from the believability for me.
