Kathryn Hansen is Professor of Asian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, and is a leading scholar of South Asian theatre history, especially the Hindi and Urdu vernacular traditions of north India. She is the author of Grounds for Play: The Nautanki Theatre of North India.

I highly recommend this book. Kathryn Hansen's ideas have an intuitive appeal: she views bulimia as a habit, cemented by repetition, rather than an expression of some "deeper" issue that therapy would work to solve while ignoring the binge eating behaviors that define bulimia in the first place. Hansen writes that we binge because of urges to binge - not because we have mommy issues or because we're lonely or whatnot. This book is completely different from other self-help books you'll find in the eating disorder section of the bookstore because it focuses on the physiological aspect of bulimia. I'm hoping I can apply some of Hansen's techniques to my own life!… (plus d'informations)
