Good. Different. Almost felt let down at the end. Was it a twist? Are they back to “their world” or one where they think they are satisfied? This was probably one of the better sci fi books I have read recently.

Somewhere the midpoint in this, I started to feel as though the plot had gotten so 'out there' it might not end in a way that would be understandable. However, what was going on simply built what followed more solidly. This is a story that starts with a foreshadowing that sets you up well. The first part of the book gets readers invested in four young people competing for a big money prize as survivalists. You're introduced to River and Cam through portions of their screening profiles. This works very well in terms of investing readers in these two. Trip and Liza are the other two players and one of them isn't what you think at first. As the plot becomes more complex and convoluted, you really need to pay attention because, as I noted earlier, sometimes things seem about to go off the rails completely. Read on and, like me, you'll most likely be impressed by one of the more creative plots in quite some time. I was both impressed and satisfied when I closed the cover.… (plus d'informations)

I thought this was a very interesting storyline. Only one human trying to figure out how to fit in with a bunch of clones who have been living together for hundreds of years. The clones have everything perfected, from their rituals to their food to their communication. Jack doesn't really belong and he keeps getting into skiffs with others and his fate comes down to the Council. Althea-310 takes an interest in him and tries to help him find his way. Even though it leaves her life at risk. It was very interesting learning about the clones and what they considered defects in humans. You really see that they do have issues and imperfections that they don't realize. It's science fiction and I recommend it.… (plus d'informations)

This book was a start - stop - start again - stop again - eventually finish for me.

This Sci-Fi story is set in a world where humans have been extinct for a good 300 years. In this world of cloned GMO-humans the only non-GMO human is different. He's not the only one though. Even seemingly identical clones are different too, or aren't they?

What I liked: the world-building, the idea of cloned generations based on only nine people.

What bugged me: the pairing - in a world of clones, why dedicate such a large amount of the book to sex. Pairing/sex is unnecessary.
