A book such as this should be lavishly illustrated, and Mr. Blunt's text is clear and readable. I have placed the "Fantasy" tag on this book, because it is about a very elaborate fantasy indulged in by a very well-heeled fan of the genre. Wagner anyone?

Maybe the most important reference book that exists for antique flower prints. Sitwell is considered the "Bible" for print dealers

He was odd, but I shall never forget the fresh flowers I saw at his tomb in Munich in June 1974--he still lives in the memory of some. This book is magnificently illustrated. But royal biography is a weakness of mine...… (plus d'informations)

The definitive work on one of the world's greatest naturalists, the Swedish taxonomist Carl Linnaeus. This beautifully illustrated biography celebrates the man who will be remembered for ever as the father of modern plant taxonomy. This is an account of Linnaeus the man, his adventures in the wilds of Lapland, his family life and his relations with his pupils, as well as his epoch-making scientific achievements.
