This book was a great follow up to Inside the Lines.

I liked that it still maintained its sex positive message and kept the focus on the heroine's growth as an independent woman. In fact, those are two of my favourite aspects of this series. It delivers a strong message without being preachy or condescending. It gives these books a touch of realism when it comes to the characters, allowing readers to connect with the female leads on a real level. Because some of these situations (mostly how they meet the male lead) are used for dramatics and they make the novel have that fun aspect to it. But the character development is what lasts for me when I'm finished reading these novels.

The romance in this one was just as good as the previous. I like how Kai is projected as a partner and not as a crutch that Zi uses to reshape her whole life. In this story, I feel like the romance takes a bit more of a backseat because of all the things Zi has to work out in her personal life but it worked for this story.

Overall: I really enjoyed this one and am excited to see what is going happen next in this series!

I read this one before I read [b: Inside the Lines|24519512|Inside the Lines|Ally Bishop|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1425448734s/24519512.jpg|44118883] and I'm glad I did. This book is great at introducing all the important characters for the next few books while setting the tone for the rest of the story.

I was really hesitant to start Crossing the Line simply because the synopsis hints at a very fast, pretty much love-at-first-sight type of situation--basically my least favourite romantic trope ever. However, once I started reading, it didn't really feel like that to me (much to my relief).

Sure, the romance happens fast but I definitely saw the connection these two had. It made sense to me that they would be drawn together and so it didn't really bother me that they were falling fast. It also helped that Ella recognized the situation and acted accordingly.

Overall, I really found their story to be very addicting to read and that really surprised me given my preconceived expectations going into it.

This book just hit all the right notes for me!

I thought there was a fantastic balance between character growth and the romance. There was plenty of steam to keep me satisfied but there was also the right amount of character stories. I loved watching Blue's journey to find herself. Her story is heartbreaking but so well done and realistic. I thought her story was told beautifully and it definitely the strongest of the series (at least I think so). I also like how it links back to the previous novels. It felt like the best way to wrap up the story of the Trace sisters (though I hope we get those spin-offs soon!).

The romance was also strong and I loved how well they worked for each other. and I thought her romantic match was just perfect for her. It complimented Blue's story in the best way possible.

I read this one after I read [b: Crossing the Line|20416706|Crossing the Line|Megan Hart|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1388659007s/20416706.jpg|29554490] and I'm glad I did. It helped prepare me for Lux character and made me curious to see what would happen in her own story.

I was worried that the BDSM/dominatrix aspect of this novel would overshadow Lux's character development but it never reached that point. Instead, it was used as one aspect of her character but it never overwhelmed the story. There also isn't a lot of it either. There's enough to get the point across but it isn't a book that is all sex scenes and no character development.

This book is all about Lux growing into a strong independent woman and sorting her life out. Along the way she might find romance but more importantly, the focus is on her and I liked that a lot.
