In this fourth book in the Without a Trace series the younger sister Blue is the main character. I didn't read the first three books, but was able to handle it as a standalone title. The narrative in Outside the Lines is in the first person of this family outcast. Boyish legs, barely curved, bad in reading and maths. When she goes for help from her professor Rhys Kennison, she seduces him at the spot. Rhys is attractive and more than willing to further enjoy all kinds of sexual adventures with Blue. Having been in rehab quite regularly, Blue suffers from panic attacks and can't hide these from Rhys. Can lust and sex be turned into love and faithfulness? And what if consent leads to BSDM. How far is too far? What will Rhys' parents say at Thanksgiving? And will Blue be able to find a happy end? Steamy scenes are mixed with thoughtful conversations and true to the complexity of life descriptions of the character movements to give this erotic romance flesh and structure. I will not be a fan of this genre and certainly don't want to read this kind of books every week, but I was positively surprised about the writing skills of Ally Bishop. The times this couple has sex and the explicit details the Ally Bishop shares with her audience in this plot is something - though functional - to be warned for upfront. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

**I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**
This book just hit all the right notes for me!
I thought there was a fantastic balance between character growth and the romance. There was plenty of steam to keep me satisfied but there was also the right amount of character stories. I loved watching Blue's journey to find herself. Her story is heartbreaking but so well done and realistic. I thought her story was told beautifully and it definitely the strongest of the series (at least I think so). I also like how it links back to the previous novels. It felt like the best way to wrap up the story of the Trace sisters (though I hope we get those spin-offs soon!).
The romance was also strong and I loved how well they worked for each other. and I thought her romantic match was just perfect for her. It complimented Blue's story in the best way possible.
