A captivating, heartwarming debut novel.  After the sudden loss of her fiancé, Steven, Jenny Beckinsale has more than a broken heart to deal with--she's also facing too many financial surprises over Blue Sky, the fledgling seaplane service she and Steven built. Too late she's discovered Steven was in over his head, and deeply in debt to his best friend and fellow Navy pilot Jared Worth. The sexy, cynical Top Gun demands his money back now. He doesn't care what will happen to Jenny or her small town dreams of success.  But Jenny has a few surprises of her own, including a way out of her predicament--she'll force this steel-eyed flyboy into service for Blue Sky. It's the only way Jared will ever see a dime. But as the summer fades, these two lost souls will discover they're saving more than a business...they're saving each other.… (plus d'informations)

Every once in a while I read a romance novel that reminds me why I fell in love with them so many years ago. Lake Magic is one of those books. You can't help identifing with the wounded hero and failure-prone heroine. A book like this is a rare find to be treasured. I finished it all in one day, as I couldn't put it down. ( )

This was okay. Nothing complex or complicated, just a fairly straight-forward romance. I liked it, but didn’t find much about it to love. I found the animosity of Jenny’s family towards her a bit confusing. If you ask me, she had a right to still be a bit of a mess 9 months after her fiance’s death. There was more history than that to it, but the outright hostility didn’t sit well with me. I also could have done without the subplot involving Jenny’s sister and her absentee husband. It added absolutely nothing to the story, especially since it’s resolved without much to-do. Jared is your run-of-the-mill leading man, who didn’t really need a "hero" story behind him. I think he would have been much more interesting with more of a bad-boy story behind him. But these are really just nit-picky things. If you like romance in a beautiful setting, it’s not a bad book to pick up. ( )

This was a very easy read. An enjoyable cozy book to read in an afternoon. The author wrote characters that you wanted to get to know. I would love to read more from this author! ( )

Liked this book from start to finish, quick read. The author did a good job with the characters, they were well-drawn and realistically flawed and made you ache for their hearts to heal. Fabulous job! Will be waiting for her next book. ( )

This was a very quick, but enjoyable read. I really fell in love with the characters and couldn't wait for them to get together. I was also pleased that Jenny was able to find it within herself to grow up. She really learned how to take care of herself and her business. I would definitely read more from this author. ( )
